I'm so confused...
What have I got to do to set up a Team Fortress 2 listen server using eSteamation?
I can't find a manual for it.



OK I got the "VLDR -ldbinary hl2.exe -vldropts=b -steam" part but I have absolutely no clue what to do to launch a TF2 eSteamation listen server to play with my friends online
I hope you can help me out

Got it working now, I had to move the files to the /steamapps/useracc/team fortress 2/ folder.
I started the VLDR.exe with -ldbinary hl2.exe -vldropts=b -steam -game tf -console.
THe game starts and I create a listen server.
The server starts and I see all the eSteamaation stuff coming up in the console.
Then I type status to see the server IP and type in sv_lan 0, but other players can't see the server using this IP.
What am I doing wrong? (My router is configured correctly)

How ? Just:
1. Install SemiSteam
2. Get latest team fortress 2 client content.gcf into steamApps folder
3. Start VLDR.exe
4. Login or create new empty account
5. Install and start a game
6. Click on Create server
7. Give your ip adress to your friends

Can you add timestamps in logs? Because I can't see what when happens...
For example: When starting Ses/eST, it should log the time when it started, when it exited, when it gave a specific error, etc...

and keep it up!

btw, can you make SeS to login to Virtual Steam Server? it's very useful when using offline, since more games are not working on emulators...

Hmm. I downloaded and used it. But I can't join Steam servers. When I join a STEAM server TF2 gives an error like this: "Steam verification rejected." But I can join easily NON-STEAM servers.

Why?

I did these steps:

1. I downloaded latest version of SemiSteam.
2. Then I copied them to Steam's folder.
3. I created a shortcut from VLDR.exe
4. And I added this command to TARGET: ...\VLDR.exe -login username password (not like these, my real acc. info)
5. I started SemiSteam. (as shortcut) Waited sometime and I loged in.
6. I double-clicked the TF2's shortcut on Steam.
7. It started then I selected "Find Servers".
8. I joint a STEAM server.
9. (The half percentage of loading screen...) The game got a error: "Steam verification rejected."

This looks like that you are using SemiSteam without Setti's Master Server....
Only when joining legit/uncracked servers give you the "Steam verification rejected." error.
Add Setti's masterserver and then try again.

In next RC, SemiSteam will read Setti's Masterserver instead of Steam's one (like RevEmu does)...

Replace your masterservers.vdf with the css.setii.info one

I use Windows Server 2008 - so , yep,it will work You must add Steam.exe to DEP exclusions for SeS to start properly.

I'm not sure, but isn't it like that, that only on Server 2003/2008 DEP is enabled by default and that XP and Vista have it disabled by default?

The "^^" are at the right place, Avira detects anything as a virus. However, vityan's stuff is 100% clean.

Retail XP with SP2 doesn't have DEP, it got added after some windows updates ... kinda silently I might add. Half of my tools stopped working because of DEP-incompatible packers in a single day ... I thought I was infected or something ! Then I googled around and found the ... solution.

hi, excuse me please, but i can't get through. It's hard for me to speak about this in English, so please don't delete my post I will describe my problem in russian:

Я постарался сделать все правильно, по инструкции: скачал Стим, обновил его, вышел из него, выгрузил dll'ки в папку где лежит Steam.exe, VLDR.exe туда же выгрузил...Собственно, вся проблема в VLDR.exe...Как я его не пытался только открыть...И ярлык создавал, и атрибуты прописывал..даже через другую учетную запись пытался открыть. все равно гад пишет "Отказано в доступе к указанному устройству,пути или файлу.Возможно, у вас нет нужных прав доступа к этому объекту." Я администратор компьютера, ничего вроде не должно возникать, и тут такая трабла. Я попробовал запустить Стим с помощью того лоадера, который предложил Stryder на пред. странице.У меня получилось, но когда я попытался установить Кс 1.6, мне сказали что "Сервера Стим слишком заняты, побробуйте позже, бла-бла-бла". Поиграть хочется, а убиваться об стену - не хочется . Помогите, пожалуйста.
