How did you launch eST 1.9 RC1 using the alternate method? I talked to vityan666 and he said that he'll put one on RC2. But alas RC2 hasn't been released yet.

Read the first post, please...
Quote:
a)Native VLDR(Vityan's Loader): VLDR Steam_parameters_following. Example: VLDR.exe -login acc pass
NOTE: You can just double click on VLDR icon to launch SeS without parameters
b)SMD's way of -clientapp: Steam.exe -clientapp eSTEAMATiON.dll
ยจ

Make shortcut to steam.exe and place "-clientapp eSTEAMATiON.dll" behind.
Or just make a batch file(bat)..
  1. Steam.exe -clientapp eSTEAMATiON.dll

I'm talking about starting eST on a server. Because on some game hosts there's just no way of uploading a .exe file and running it. vityan666 said that he'll make one that's just like eST 1.8 and it'll be an alternative to VLDR.exe. That's what I'm talking about.

Oh and I do read. Plus I talked to vityan666 about this in IRC. So unless RC2's already out there's just no way IIRC.

Oh sorry, thought you meant launching it to crack steam.

How do i start a Red Orchestra dedicated server again? I cant find the "ucc.exe" in the RedOrchestra/System folder, or anywhere else either.. And when i start a listen server, and try to join on another computer, it says "couldn't join due to unknown steam problem" or something. They both started by VLDR.exe, and the estamation.dll is in steam/bin folder.

Help appreciated

esteamation.dll goes into the steam folder, and use then use vldr -ldbinary steam.exe to launch steam.

hi. i'm from germany and i have a problem with SeS.

everything was right and all games are listed in the "my games" section. so i have clicked on counterstrike source and downloaded it. (100% - finished)

now my problem:
when i want to start counterstrike (by clicking on it) it seems to be starting and the desktop resolution changes, but then it changes back to steam and there comes an error:

Quote:
Engine Error:

No permissions to run 'cstrike'.

By the way:
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit. I've tried to start steam in administrator mode, but it doesn't work also.
P.S. I'm using the SeS v1.9 RC1 Version

Also I have found out, that some games (like team fortress 2, ...) there is an error when downloading (servers are full [i don't know how it is in english])

HalfLife 2 runs without problems?!

PlZ help.
thx

The servers busy error is because you don't own the game, you can't do anything about that. And everything launchess fine with semisteam, it's a problem on your end I think.

okay, but how do i then download the game?

and may it be, that i mustn't download in semisteam directly? because i've downloaded css directly in steam / semisteam.

Either buy the game or download its content from this forum (or ze internetz)

And it doesn't matter where you download, they go to steam's dir.

I get the same error too, on my cracked account. On my legit (i have css bought), it works with SeS enabled.

Looks like we have to wait for a update by vitytan to SeS...

For now you can use GCFPrep + RevEmu.

Where is Vityan when you need him :D

I have a question. How do I launch game using SeS?

I can launch Left 4 Dead flawlessly but I can't launch third party games like Defcon and Uplink by Introversion.

As long as you've got the CFGs files, you can normally launch the games via your (Semi-)Steam client.

There's no GCFs. They are extracted content in the common folder with ncf files. Just like Left 4 Dead. However, when I throw the revemu's Steam.dll into the extracted content, the game is able to launch. I think it probably turned into a standalone game.

[All]
Ive decided to put the already quite old SeS 1.9 RC2 SVN/TRUNK build(November 2008) to public.
mVUP is known not to work with CS 1.6 SteamWorks and Source 2007 U1(L4D).

For eSTEAMATiON 1.9(All) users(Incl server admins) VLDR 1.9 U3 included in the package may be usefull as it is not detected as malware/virus like the original version and support unattended execution via external configuration file.
