Thanks for the heads up. It seem the new engine.dll cannot be patched with VUP 2.01.

I had the problems with this game. Here's what to I did to make it work: I just extracted the archive, replaced it with newest client and engine version, then validated files in CFToolbox. Then I went to CFToolbox' 'Install' tab. I selected Left 4 Dead from games list. In the box below the were highlighted two missing files: -left 4 dead base.ncf -left 4 dead binaries.ncf I clicked on the 'download selected GCF/NCF files. And the game is updating right now (will took some time, though). You may also choose to install server files (download works fine, too). I've checked it now and the game plays & looks fine. |

Yep. And because of this I can't, and I doubt anyone else can...get in the game. Get that Steam Server to Busy message. |

I re-applied the rev-emu, used the VUP 2.01 engine.dll, and had some server errors.... That is until I replaced the left4dead\bin\server.dll with the server.dll from previos update [dec 6]!! hope this helps... |

Does anyone have the latest client binary NCF? I got all latest ncf except client binary as expected. Edit: I meant both client binary.ncf and client.dll. |

EDITED "could not load Library Client" was caused by corupted client.dll while updating EDITED 2 seems server busy error even steam showed game 100% ready was caused by corupted client.dll as steam tried to update it (seems not updating l4d via steam is a bit harder) |

Warning: the new 1.0.0.8 version uses a new protocol (38). Most (if not all) of the no-steam servers use protocol 37 at the present time so you wont't be able to connect to any of them. Lan etc. still works, minor bugs (and error messages) with revemu 9.55 but works.
