I have been watching the forum for a few hours waiting for someone to post the new client binaries. :shock:
Now I gotta get it working on my LAN, and I'm done. :mrgreen:

edit- Damn. It's installed now but I hit yet another rut. To be safe, I turned off L4D updates to
prevent anything "entertaining" from happening in the future.
Now it's some dll problem. I am going to check the forums and the web for a solution.

edit- I found a dll that I forgot I had. Came with Warezz's installer. Now it is telling my that
there's a problem with steam. The annoying part is I am running a legitimate steam.
I am going to... as much as I hate doing it... allow steam to update.
I'll repatch it afterwords. I'll report the result. Somehow I bet this is going to be a real pain to get on my lan...
Shoulda just downloaded the no-steam release I guess. :roll: Oh well.

edit- What foul magic is this?! It undid the steam patch... I hate the new steam! :mrgreen:
The good news is with the dll and steam updated this works. The SMD patch was giving
me some strange problems though. Everything worked but it was asking me if I wanted to
purchase Zombie Panic (source mod). It also did some "synching" thing. :shock:
Oh well. At least it works.

FINAL edit- For some reason the SMD patch doesn't work properly, but the Undead Patch works
Flawlessly. Go ahead and download it. :mrgreen:

Hi,

I have gotten the latest client.dll and the 4 new ncf files but i keep getting the error "This game is currently unavaliable, please try another time."

Any help would be appreciated

u still need to update client: http://depositfiles.com/ru/files/xzphxhota

(client patch released 2009-01-14)

also client directory should be @ Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead to see l4d as fully installed in steam

Left 4 Dead is still working with v1.0.0.8 and protocol 37 (using old cracked engine.dll) on servers that still have protocol 37.
But I can't connect to a cracked server with protocol 38, although I see players playing in it.

Anyone has a new cracked engine.dll or knows a method to play on protocol 38?

I was just playing using protocol 38. I don't know if its cuz I tried that VUP 2.0.

I have "uni-gmsrv-up-2.0-FiNAL-vityan" and I'm trying to crack "engine.dll" of protocol 38, but it won't crack it.
Would you please upload the engine.dll?

Hey I think this tool just uses this values to start the game in server mode.

you have to rename ur left4death.exe to hl2.exe, creat a shortcut with this values... example:

No, I was just wondering if it is safe.
I questioned it's safety, so I scannned it. Scans came up fine, however
I just put it in my folder, as I thought it was a standard cracked executable,
and ran it. I allowed it to make the first network connection. The second place it
attempted to connect to was "Datlenko.org".
I've never heard of Datlenko.org, so I just blocked it.
Do you know what it is doing?

I apologize for being possibly a bit too skeptical, but I don't feel like wiping my computer.

I just found out, how it works.

I read that this tool supports a community over hamachi. Maybe datenklo.org has some data about hamachi-networks where this game is played?? - but this is just a presumption.

!!! this should replace the launcher:
