Hi.
Can someone help me, i have updated steam and put the new ncf files and updated client

and when i run left 4 dead trough steam, it run, but when i try to play online and go to lobby, it enters for a second and then it says disconected and connection with session has been lost.... I don't no what to do, plz help...

If you can get the LAN patch working you can use an application like Hamachi or Wippien
to create a virtual LAN over the internet with your friends.

*Be warned though that LAN is MUCH less secure than normal online playing so
I only recommend it if you know what you are doing, you have nothing to lose,
and/or you completely trust and know the people you intend on forming a LAN with.

All ncf's are 100% except for the sound file...which is at 0.00%

What's the problem...t.t

2. I can't play singeplayer anymore!

i've updated the ncf files (23-1-09), everything is 100%, and i can join cracked servers using cracked protocol 38 and single player
however, i cannot host a lan game via hamachi, because now it requires that i have steam running before running L4D and if i do have steam running, it says steam validation rejected...
anyone else getting this problem?

Steam refuses your connection because they know that you don't actually own the game. If you buy a game off steam they have a payment on file. If you own the disc they have a cd key. Steam really is a royal pain. There is supposedly a lan patch that works on the post before this one. It is called the Ogerlauncher. Try it at your own risk. If it works, post a comment I found this guide that shows many different techniques you could use to get it working. Again, use at your own risk. VPN with filesharing turned off, is much more saver!

It's still less safe than a normal internet connection, but yes, turning off file sharing makes vpn reasonably safe. If you decide to use VPN with people you don't know/trust be sure you set the the hamchi/wippien connection as internet in your firewall. VPN is really useful for playing illegitimate copies of multiplayer games . Misanthropy

Why should it be? It's the same as long as all your ports are forwarded. If you use a DSL modem the security doesn't differ at all, lol.
