ummm k now i have it on steam 100% ready. game works, i can't play online tho.
try to find a game lobby, session lost.
try to create lobby, session lost.
help please? :(

Its normal steamworks protection, we cant create lobby in this moment, if you wanna play online with friends, create server with console (options) use MAP XXX command where XXX is name of map, list of maps you can draw with command MAPS *, your friend can connect with connect IP command, where IP is your IP adress ;)

when you say in this moment, does that mean you will be able to make it work later?(weeks/months)

but its hard to play with friends if you don't have any friends... on empty steam account at least.

cause the ones i know are always full, or at least thats what it says.

The Game doesn't work online for me. i entered an connect ip like 72.233.44.146:27030. but it started loading and then connection with session has been lost.
help please.

Fellers, i couldn't make it work... I downloaded the sounds.v2 content and the client ncf, deleted the blob, but the game never appeared as installed. Anyway, i didn't know what was the CFToolbox tool about but i gave it a try. Damn amazing tool, now i'm getting the NCFs i need, and some spanish gcfs from other games. Satan bless this forum.

Keeping the track with the thread... i just couldn't make this method work but someway my problem is fixed.

- Updated client binary to version 2
- Included latest engine.dll patched with latest VUP SVK, including alt+tab crash fix

I got the new version 2 of the client binary. CFToolbox says it's version 2, but still says it's outdated, and the game won't start. Is there a new update or did I do something wrong?

First right-click -> Validate.
Then right-click -> Correct.
Then right-click -> Download -> Resume
If that doesn't work I have no clue what's wrong.

Today @ 2h 27 GMT, 2nd update of the day, everything can be updated with CF Toolbox except Client Binary.

And SteamCloud is now active, has anyone try it ?

6/12/2008 - Left4Dead Update released, use new pack called left_4_dead_client_binary_plus_engine_v3

In that pack is lastest cracked engine.dll and client.dll +ncf

I have followed your steps and everything is updated but for some reason Left 4 Dead shows up as Download starting..., I checked all the files with CFToolbox and everything seems fine, any help with this?

That is normal for the first time you load the game, it was the same for me. I just launched the game and I guess it created a few files and then loaded the game.
