OK, thank you shmelle for your correction.
Does RevEmu needs client to launch game from Steam / cracked Steam, or does client can launch it from the executable?

With RevEmu it worked but game appears as a HL2 mod instead of a standalone game, and rcon wasn't available from outside the server (HLSW).
So I tried patching on linux the engine with VUP v2.11 and it works like a charm, all clients can enter (original, cracked, without Steam, etc) and servers appear as L4D and rcon works fine.

My server (l4d) is running ubuntu 2.6.24-19-server engine_i486.so = ivailosp

And on the clients side are using Windows

Protocol version 37
Exe version 1.0.0.7 (left4dead)
Exe build: 14:12:44 Dec 3 2008 (3679) (1)

every time clients want to join the server its always crash
utlmemory.h (322) : Assertion Failed: IsIdxValid(i)
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

but if i join on the server that still running on ver 1.0.0.5/37 its all good.
but the problem is the server running on ver 1.0.0.9/37

How can i downgrade from ver 1.0.0.9/37 to 1.0.0.5/37 ?

Had that too. Found no other "solution" then switching the dedicated server to win32 :mad:

No working patch for the newest L4D linux server at the moment? RevEmu doesn`t load. Is it outdated? Vityan is.

I tried vityans method and revemu with no success, but then found this working crack. No need for anything else.
