What exactly is so complex about it? All you have to do is copy & paste the commands and SimPack does the rest. Its been posted in this thread numerous of times. Have you actually looked throught the forum? If you don't know how to use the command prompt you shouldn't even be using a PC in the first place. The problem today is these kids that have absolutely no clue on the workings of a computer. All you want is plug and play and want everything done for you. And believe me this doesn't only apply to computers. You see it everywhere. Quoted for truth. We don't have many people helping here, so the few have to do more. Do they not meet your idiot-proof requirements, boss? spleege wrote: bonehead, most use a cracked exe. Too bad this forum is not for "most". Quote: this is the steam "underground" community right? well make it one and go into detail on how to use Simpack and what a loader is. help people. dont mock them. and gives us a break: leave the politics out of it. I love when russians talk about democracy. how long have you had it? um......about a decade. laughable. Doesn't make sense. Underground implies that it's not for every random casual gamer and it requires effort to get into the stuff. Nobody talked about democracy, and you are not speaking to any russian either. (They don't have a proper democracy anyway, but let's not continue this.) Calm down sir. If you don't like the instructions, go find better ones somewhere else. I bet you won't.

of course you dont get it. your admin. totally out of touch. but that's cool. you'll remain that way and be happy. cool looking site. you've spent time on it I can see. content? lame and somewhat elitest par usual. I'm the only one complaining but i know I speak for loads of people tired of 1) steps not being fully explained 2) and overall cockyness that has no place here. Example - the Q&A at the end: Q) i you dont understand A) you are stupid. first, no one would ask such an ambigious question. its just jacking off man. come on! Ive seen it so much now. especially in the last few years. punks who, granted have a lot of knowledge, getting all high and mighty. why crack stuff in the first place? I mean you do want a large majority to use your method right? I'm trying to make a long overdue point here. and maybe by whinning here I am using the wrong example but do you get what I am saying? remember what it was like when you were first learning? making your work available to the masses is making it totally moron proof. and why not?--------done-------later

If you want instructions then here you go: You go down to your local games shop, hand over $50, take your newly purchased game home, open the packaging, put the dvd in your dvd drive on your pc (not your dvd player!), then click install. Done! Why dont you run along back to your valve studios, or whichever games studio/publisher you represent. What a STROKER

Can you find another site with this content? No you can't. I came here in 2005 and guess what, I was a noob. But I learned stuff. And I remember it was interesting and great. If you're out for a quick one-click solution to things, you are wrong here and wrong at Steam cracking business. It just is way more sophisticated than it gets the right kind of attention sometimes. Sir, we are the only forum on the net with all this stuff. When a new game comes out, we get plenty of attention, we don't need more of that. As I said, a flood of noobs doesn't do good to this community, at least not at its current state. The somewhat elitist and complicated stuff here saves us work that nobody would do anyways and it keeps people away that want to click a button and have things cracked, but have absolutely no idea what reading, thinking and searching mean. Even I don't know how some stuff works nowadays, since Steam constantly changes and since I haven't played any games for a long time. The work needed to be done to make the constantly changing cracks and solutions noobfriendly is just too much for our "manpower". And you can't force people to help. Oh and, cracking is not always for fame. Most crackers do it because they like doing it. Same with coding and helping.
If you want something moron-proof and like to deal with morons, go google PacSteam. It's crappy, stolen and outdated and you get lots of NWO propaganda along with it, but it's easy.

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me. Im trying to run simpack on a backup of the steam version. The backup stores the files in three seperate folders, Disk_1/Disk_2/Disk_3. The readme for simpack says it can handle multi folder archives such as this and that is working fine for me. The issue is simpack stalls on file 113 of 116. Running simpack v <location.sim> | more shows all the output files, and you can see that it stalls on Layer 17.Arch01 (file 113). This should be 562465394 bytes, however mine only copies about half of this. Does anyone have any idea why im getting the invalid zip header error, or any way i could fix it? Cheers

It's best to find the 2 DVD ISO images. They work without any hassle. 1. Copy all files in ISO images into a temp folder. 2. Copy SimPack and GCFFILES.DAT into same temp folder. GCFFILES.DAT is not needed IFAIK. SimPack just won't give you an error when extracting with it. 3. Rename all the SID, SIS, SIM files so there is no space between Project and Origin. 3. Create a batch file with the code below and also put it in your temp folder. 4. Create a new folder were you want FEAR2 to be extracted. I used D:\FEAR2. If you change this, make sure you also change it in the batch file. 5. Run the batch file. It will take some time to extract. There shouldn't be any errors if using the ISO images. 6. After it extracted just copy over the scene release EXE and replace the original. -

Just finished the game. I can say it's much more action-packed than the previous installments and gives you something to pass the time with, but nothing more. It felt somewhat repetitive (and that can also be said about the first F.E.A.R.) and I don't think I'll play it again anytime soon. Is there nothing new to add to this genre?
