[Tutorial] F.E.A.R 2 Project Origin - Unpacking DVDs? (sim/sid/sis)

Well i know this isn't the proper place to ask this, but since the official forum is full of stuff like this, without solution, i'll ask here, maybe there's some way through steam to fix it, who knows.

So, anyone knows how to fix the damn black bars in-game, those bars that appear above and bellow the graphics screen? It's the same like Assassin's Creed, but in AC it could be fixed by pressing a combination of keys. In FEAR 2 i can't figure it out, there's no options in the ini and the command line options from FEAR don't work with FEAR 2. Thanks in advance. :geek:

I think thats normal......
but anyway try to change the resolution to 1280x768. that should work!

Have a look at the WSGF. I think someone is making a fix.

It works, but it just stretches the damn graphics lol. I also have tried a custom res but is the same, gets stretched.

I know this isn't a support thread for this game but people at the actual forum take too damn long to approve new topics, so i'll ask here..

Has anyone got this problem or have an idea how to fix it?

This is on the way to the nurse's office I believe, all the materials just kind of disappear.

OS: Windows 7 Beta Build 7000
Card: 9800GTX
Drivers: 182.06

EDIT: I lied it works now, had to start Steam and run FEAR2.exe after installing the 1.01 multiplayer patch. Runs great now!

You don't even have to use Steam with v1.01.

I'm not using Steam directly, you get an error if you try to start FEAR2.exe without Steam running. If it is however, FEAR2.exe starts fine without error.
If I use loader.exe my materials get all messed up for some reason.

I also had problems with loader.exe so I got the DIE crack from gamecopyworld. Works fine now, no need for the loader or a running Steam anymore. You might notice Antivir and Bitdefender giving a false positive for the cracked exe. Just ignore it.

Myne gets up to %87 then asks for disk 3
but there is no disk 3

All i have is disk 1 which is 7.87gigs
and disk 2 which is 3.40 gigs

then you miss a disc

there really are 3

1: 7,46gig
2: 7.46gig
3: 7.58 gig

If you have the original 2 DVD ISO's then you are fine. You must be extracting the wrong way. How are you extracting this?

Hi all,

First off....to those of you who took the time to post all the instructions, thank you!!! If you read the directions and actually follow each step, it goes pretty easy and smooth. Followed the steps, installed just fine, launched game, first level loads AND........

After you make it off the street and into the coffee shop in the first level everything goes black. The game is still playing and you can see some objects "floating" around.....uhhhh kinda like a file didn't load properly er something??

Anyone have any ideas? Is it just a settings issue, or something like that? Did this happen to anyone else?
