Thank you so much RebelFXerr I followed that exactly and it worked like a charm. The only minor problem was I used the exact code from your cmd and there is an extra A in there second from the last letter. Thank you for the help.

-- Edit --

Ok, I worked out the whole deal with the simpack, but now my revloader program does not seem to be working right. Every time I try to use it I get the error "The application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." So I'm not completely sure that I did the whole rev.ini thing right. Could someone post a screenshot of theirs so I can compare.

Alright here's what you do with revLoader... Put all the revLoader files in the FEAR 2 game folder, mine is C:\FEAR so all the files should go there, rev.ini, revLoader.exe etc. Also what I did to make sure it works is also copy all the revLoader files in a folder inside the FEAR game folder, name it revLoader_v2_2 I don't think this matters but Idid it just in case. Open up the rev.ini file and change it for both folders it's in. Before you change the .ini file, you need to first locate your steamclient.dll which will be in your steam folder. Mine is C:\programs\Steam\steamclient.dll yours might be C:\program files\steam\steamclient.dll once you find it remember the path (the whole C:\programs thing) Go to the rev.ini file and it should say...
[Loader]
# You can launch revLoader in two ways:
#
# 1) Create a shortcut to revLoader and apply the following
# command line options:
#
# -appid <APPID> where <APPID> is the application in question.
# If supplied revLoader will create a steam_appid.txt
# file with the value specified
# -launch <PROCNAME> where <PROCNAME> is the executable to
# launch
#
# All other command line options are passed through to the
# launched executable, so:
#
# revLoader.exe -appid 12345 -launch MyApp.exe -silent /help
#
# This will create a steam_appid.txt file with the value 12345
# Before launching MyApp.exe with the arguments -silent /help
#
# 2) Specify the name of the application to load in the ProcName
# setting below as with previous versions of revLoader.
# You can also specify the command line if required.
#
# e.g ProcName=MyApp.exe -silent /help
#
ProcName=game.exe

# Specify the location of the original steamclient.dll
# which comes with Steam client
# You can comment this line out if the game doesn't use it
#
SteamClientDll=E:\Steam\steamclient.dll

Highlight and delete all that. Once you delete all the text in the file copy / paste this...
[Loader]

# Specify the name of the application to load.
# You can also specify the command line.
#
ProcName=FEAR2.exe

# Specify the location of the original steamclient.dll
# which comes with Steam client
# You can comment this line out if the game doesn't use it
#
SteamClientDll=C:\Programs\Steam\steamclient.dll

Where mine says C:\Programs\Steam\steamclient.dll you'll change that to the path your steamclient.dll is so C:\program files\steam\steamclient.dll or something liek that, depending on where you steam is installed to. Once you change that, save the .ini You should be done, now all you have to do is double click revLoader.exe to play and it should work. If not, write and let me know and I have another solution you can try. I also included screen shots for you below. I hope this helps! By the way, in the screenshot, nevermind the file named rev.ini.bk, that's just my back-up of the original rev.ini, you don't need this. Well the screen shots won't post for some reason but here are the links to view them manually...

Thank you RebelFXerr. My game is working now so far :D. I had my directory as a steamclient.dll that I put in my fear2 folder so that was the problem. Thanks to everyone who put in the effort to get this game to work, I appreciate it very much.

I am unable to download the files for "simpack" or the "project origin" files on the first page of this post. Links state: unable to deliver file

any ideas, are the lkinks dead? I was able to download the revolution loader no prob. I've even tried disabling my antivirus and peerguardian, no luck. Are there any other links to these files.
THanks

Here's my GCFFiles.DAT.. download, extract to J:\FEAR2 or wherever your discs are extracted to. I would upload just GCFFILES.DAT but it tells me extension .dat is not allowed :/ This should solve your problem!

RebelFXerr wrote:
Ok with simpack, you don't open it like you would any other program. What I did to make simpack work is extract all the simpack files in the FEAR 2 game folder. In my case, my simpack.exe is in C:\Fear\simpack.exe There should also be a folder with simpack called source or just simpack, put all these files in the same folder where the simpack.exe is but ALSO have those files still in the folder but make sure that folder is in the FEAR 2 game folder. In my case again, the folder is C:\Fear\source\simpack\(these will be all the simpack files like _make.bat decrypt.c etc.) So the simpack.exe will be in the FEAR 2 game folder C:\Fear\simpack.exe and the rest of the simpack files will also be in the FEAR folder and a copy of those files will be in C:\Fear\source\simpack\ Now to run simpack.exe with Command Prompt. To get to Command Prompt, (with vista), click the Start button, click All Programs, click Accessories, then click Command Prompt to open. When it's open, first thing to type is cd\ then hit enter. Now if your FEAR 2 is in C:\FEAR type cd\FEAR hit enter. You should now be in C:\Fear in the command prompt to make sure you're in the right folder type dir/w and hit enter. In the list, you should see simpack.exe, if you don't you either don't have simpack in the right folder or you're in the wrong folder in command prompt. If you do see simpack.exe simply type simpack and it should load the follow by typing out the commands expressed earlier. Now if your FEAR 2 is another folder, it's essentially the same.. like instead of cd\Fear type cd\games\fear2 hit enter or wherever your FEAR is. To get into another drive with command prompt like if your harddrive is D: then in command prompt, type cd\ hit enter, then type D: hit enter or whatever letter your harddrive is. You should now be in that drive.

For those of you needing simpack and revLoader, download it here through torrent. It's Demonoid so if you need an invite code, I'll be happy to send one. http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/1955131/4061420/

hello everyone,
just downloaded the game from this link http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4718011 ... IN_(Multi9)_(Steam)_0__Working

, followed the guides hero but cant get it to work!
I am really stuck on step 3 where I have to use CMD for the extraction, It doesnt fucking recognize "Simpack" as a command no matter whatever I write!
I have the files on D:\FEAR
Anyone mind giving some helping to the newbie here?
Am getting really frustrated! :mad:

You get that error when simpack.exe isn't in the folder it should be or maybe the files that go with simpack.exe aren't there. What worked for me is this.. have simpack.exe in D:\FEAR\ all the files that go with simpack should be D:\FEAR\source\Simpack\(_makebat.bat, decrypt.c etc.) Once you have simpack as such open command prompt, type D: hit enter, then cd\FEAR hit enter.. command prompt should say D:\Fear> now type simpack and hit enter, it should tell you Use: Simpack <commmand> etc. now type what Warrior posted before
simpack x ProjectOrigin_disk1.SIM -g16451 -kF183E845B8A0A340CBD6F7922427D7C1 D:\FEAR
simpack x ProjectOrigin_disk1.SIM -g16452 -k4E185BE9D186A792EC1E1A03FED362C2 D:\FEAR
simpack x ProjectOrigin_disk1.SIM -g16454 -kE34CE97D2DC32B73AF5536FD3F07EDF0 D:\FEAR
simpack x ProjectOrigin_disk2.SIM -g16451 -kF183E845B8A0A340CBD6F7922427D7C1 D:\FEAR
simpack x ProjectOrigin_disk2.SIM -g16452 -k4E185BE9D186A792EC1E1A03FED362C2 D:\FEAR
simpack x ProjectOrigin_disk2.SIM -g16454 -kE34CE97D2DC32B73AF5536FD3F07EDF0 D:\FEAR

Once this is done, copy the revLoader files into the FEAR folder, edit rev.ini accordingly and play by opening revLoader.exe Good luck!!

Thx dude finally got it to work thanks to you!

Um.. I'm not quite sure I understand what's going on with your game... sounds like a texture load problem? Someone else would probably be better in assisting you with an issue such as this.. it might be helpfull if you posted system specs. as well. Hopefully someone a little more knowledgable in this area can help guide you!
