I just tested if L4D2 works using revloader + revemu and it really worked for me, I just played one singleplayer campaign without any crash. I didn't even use your client.dll. I deleted all L4D2/Steam reg entries before testing.
Any idea what's going on? Should CEG crash the game on start or while playing?

CEG seems to be a pain in the ass like Securom.
No matter if steam runs or not, it still seems to be in the background somehow. I mean, even the L4D2 Demo was running fine just using RevEmu and RevLoader without having Steam installed.
CEG is like Securom, but the little brother. If it is on the system and if you launch a CEG or Securom protected game, then the protection seems to start itself...at least that seems to be the fact for l4d2...dont ask me why...if nothing helps after CPAMX posts a new crack, then I will remove Steam completly + registry entries and will try it all over again without installing steam.

Left4dead2.exe has stopped working.. Tried using Thepirategay, STEAM version and files from viewtopic.php?f=10&t=54118 - They all give me same error Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit

Im playing Dead Center campaign with the crack (singlepayer) 20 min gaming without problems  THANKS SO MUSH CPAMX

That doesn't work, I did it similar with my standalone and it worked fine for me (removed all reg entries and renamed the steam installation folder). Then I've tested it on my laptop, uninstalled Steam before by using the Revo Uninstaller and my standalone crashed there straight after the intro. If you own L4D2 you have to test cracks either on another PC or on a virtual system, a L4D2 standalone will always work fine if you run it on the system were your legal L4D2 is installed :/

This proves what I said before: this is working for some people and the rest have all different errors.
Damn CEG...
I'll only download the game when it works 100%
