I use someone elses Client.dll (not mine), launch left4dead2.exe with shortcut in steam. I have fully working menu.

I used that crack, the game now works good as long as I add "-lv" to the rev.ini to load l4d2 with low violence - if i dont add the "-lv", the game CTD without any error after a few minutes of gameplay (also, I have applied the reg hack, and changed the date to 29/11/2009 and had steamup! running in the bkg). However, if i kill a witch... the game CRASHES!!! Incredibly frustrating!

I have now tried about 7 different cracks (i have to l4d2 install folders, I copied over the untouched files after trying each crack). And after trying these cracks in a multitude of combinations, The above solution is the best I have so far.

I think the best bet is to sit tight and wait for valve to update l4d2. :roll:

my razor works fine, but if i people join my game on garena they get kicked when I kill a witch... I am host and my game works stabel. is that my fault or their unproper working game ?

any ideas how to change my name permanent ?

1. Might be their problem. My game crashes as well when I kill a witch. Which installation routine and patching/cracking routines did you do, so that it runs flawlessly?

2. Create an autoexec.cfg and add write the following command in it:

Code: Select all | Line number On/Off | Expand/Contract
  1. name "INSERTNAMEHERE"


What you have to change in the line is...understandable :P

That should do the trick, even on the razor1911 version.

It has been reported that certain events can trigger the crash such as friendly fire or killing a witch. We will be pushing out a fix soon for this issue.

Finaly used client.dll from "L4D2 Demo" downloaded by steam on my comp and files provided by Ledokol. Single player works fine without any crashes.

Look what I found messing around the console XDXD Fully working CSS scout it has sounds and everything:D

Edit: I've found more weapons: AWP, SG552, MP5 But the are useless 'cuz the dont give damage only decals:D

Strange, they should work on in any version of L4D2.

Valve even stated, that, if you have the the uncut version and play together with someone from Germany, then you have a small chance to find the CS: Source weapons and use them. I highly doubt, that Valve only applied the weapon codes to the german version...that would be funny tho. Let's write a SourceMod or Metamod: Source plugin for those, so that they work.

by the way, kAkella's and reloaded releases have the same .sid files
that's why anyone can use both releases
