The method is good but the client.dll provided by the client GCF update is from another user (each client.dll is unique for each PC) so it will not work properly for everybody.

Here it CTD after 2 minutes of gameplay....

Unfortunately this new DRM Valve developed will require crack (a proper one that still doesn't exist) for steam games..... it's not possible anymore to use a "clean" install and a patched steam client (steamup or similar).

Like any other method, it's still worth to try, but it must be clear that no solution so far is universal and guaranteed to work for everybody. For me, using a clean install (simpack method) + steamup 2.1.4 + JIEgOKOJ Client.dll is enough to run the game flawless (version 1.0.0.1).

Is it possible to get client to 100% with CFToolbox as I am stuck at 99.76%

create a archive with CF Toolbox (right click on client ncf -> patches -> make archive). then upload the archive and i can create an update for you.

No. It is not necessary to get the client to 100%. Just update it to get the latest client.dll file.

Yep I have troubles on both PC whit steam and steamUp !

I keep getting steam rejected tried multiple things unfortuanly.

What does this registry key actually do before I put it in?

Really don't know. But it needed to be add so it won't crash after the intro.

This dont find normal servers to play online?? campaing online for example?? dont find servers... hahaha
and my client are at 99,66 this say download error, but say Validate file. this normal?

No only cracked servers.
It's not necessary for the client to be 100%.

Solved my crash issues. Just added -lv to launch options. And My client is struck in 99% too. Any Updates?

mm on campaing 2 spisode 1 this crahses me 2 times to deskpot :(

any sugestion?

but..one thing you should know about -lv attribute is that it removes gore effects from the game.

Cracked Steam: Right click on your left 4 dead 2 go to properties then launch options.

Standalone: Right click on your left 4 dead 2 shortcut go to target and after the path and the -lv to the end and use the commands you need.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2.exe" -lv +sv_lan 1 +sv_allow_lobby_connect_only 0

Doesn't fix CTD though. Still happens with 100% valid left 4 dead 2 and Steamup. Haven't tried that registry thing yet though to fix CTD becuase I don't know what that regitry key does, but if you are brave you can try that.
