Hi, need help! why can't i create or join games only single player works? I d/l game through steam and standalone patch 10.3 and l4d2 updated 2.0.1.8

Hey ganesh007 where did u get ur client.dll? its a clean CEG'd one or ReCEG'd or what?

My client.dll is from my Friend. He plays Legit Left 4 Dead 2.

And its not Re-Cegged. Stryder can break the CEG sequence with a Original/Legit Client.dll

Hey guys I have a problem - when I start l4d2 the passing, he shows an error:
5/ - survivor_bot: UTIL_SetModel: not precached: model/survivors/survivor_teenangst.mdl
I read here somewhere about this problem, but the solution was not clear for me. All I know is that it is connected somehow with the plugins) How can I solve this?

You need to remove, L4D1 Maps from <GameDirectory>\left4dead2\addons\

Hey gani, warn ur users on garena to keep the 1.8 version, Stryder's stoped working with 1.9..

lol ? Its working like charm

Only Problem is, it Creates Mini Dumps. It works with 2018 Client.dll and 2019 Client.dll. random Crashes happen with Mutations :S

wow strange, here its geting Steam must be running O.o

EDIT: Ok, now its working normaly, I did a clean extraction from my backup and used sam2k8 16to17 update, with has a valid CEG'd client.

EDIT2: R u geting CTD when killing a witch? coz Im CTD'ng... its may be caused by the client(using sam2k8), Im not shure but its a possibility.


I got it fixed, it was only a client.dll problem...

Haahaha, This is great...I still haven't been able to play online but the game runs great....I'm not too concerned about the fact I can't play online because I'm playing it on Mac OS X 10.6.3. I'm waiting for the native port to buy but currently I'm using n3wfold3r's CXZ wrapper which makes for a great PortingTeam community port. The frame rate is smooth and the action is great but I'm having issues with sound where as I hear my team members gunshots but I cannot hear my own. It's kind of annoying but I deal with it. Haven't had a lot of time to research the config files and what not....I suppose the tweak guide would be a good place to start. Do you know of any other sites that would be beneficial to learn the in and out of the game on a technical level to increase the performance and gameplay? I'm using a clean 2.0.0 rip updated directly to 2.0.16 and and incrementally from there.

I've also got a patched custom wine engine to play Left 4 Dead 2 with although I'm having some major issues with the gameplay blacking out momentarily when using the mouse. Wine is the program that translates the Windows API's to the Mac platform. If I were able to port this game using doh123's Wineskin application and implement my patched custom built WS2 engine then ultimately it would play nearly like a native port (and without imposing on Codeweavers) and then I would totally buy a l4d2 license, I just can't bring myself to do if it's not fully supported. I'm sure Valve is working on it now.

I just felt like posting and letting you know how far your posts here have taken the game...a truly cross-platform experience...I'm sure there have also been plenty of Linux users accessing your resources here.....so on behalf of all the other platforms accessing your resources

Well technically Speaking this Game is for Windows. Wanaa play L4D2 on MAC? get the NCFs for Mac and use Steam006 MAC's Emulator.

I too run MAC OSX86 Snow Leopard. The problems that you mentioned are momentarily mine too. But Sound is perfect and rest too. Except sudden CTD, where wine fails and Blacking out of screen coz My GFX Kexts aint working at Full Performance.

How come I can't find any servers on the latest version? I joined a room on Garena/Tunggle, nothing works. :(
