Just extract this to your Left 4 Dead 2 Directory...

1. sound.cache file in left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\sound Folder.
2. modelsound.cache in left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\ Folder.

And then Run the game.



Still not working for me
In my sound\weapons folder there aren't any file,and the main menu sounds(when you open a new game,options etc) aren't working

My sound folder is incomplete but sound.cache and modelsound.cache already were there

I advice to get Master Update v2.0.1.6 and install it on a cleaner rip. I dont know what patches you used before. And apply the sound fixes i gave you in previous post.
Incremental Patch v2.0.1.7 will come up shortly.

Thank you for the patches! :D

It worked but after installing the patches my fps dropped from 150fps to 20fps and it gets really REALLY laggy it's unplayable for me at the moment.

I'm using the exact settings that I have before and even set everything to low but the crazy lag and fps drop is still there.

Please help!

I installed the "Left 4 Dead 2 Master Update Version 2.0.1.6 ~ 1022MB"
and "Left 4 Dead 2 Standalone Patch T10.1 ~3.6MB"

My specs:
E7400 2.8 GHZ
GTS 250 512mb DDR3
2GB DDR2 800 Corsair XMS2

I've been spending all the day downloading cracking and testing l4d2 and sounds were missing or corrupt,now I'm tired of this.I think I'm going to but a legal copy of L4D2 soon

There is a new version of "RevEmuWin32", the 9.8.2. Will it be integrated in your next patch/update? Which one works better, the "stryder" or the "revolution" emulator?

Thats been out for looong long time ago. but it doesn't successfully emulate the game as Stryder still does.

@2.0.1.8 thingy. Its out! With the Greatest Standalone Patch Ever. Yeap, Thats T10.3

It doesn't. All is not well.

RevEmu can't Do - Server Browser
- uses old Client files.
- CTD with map command


Stryder - Works with on the fly Re-CEG
No problems with Server Browser or anything

only problem - Crash at Exit.

Stryder only needs 4 files to run.
1. stryder.dll
2. stryder.inf
2. stryder's loader left4dead2.exe
and 4. Original client.dll


No replacing or Doop thing required.

Yet thanks for the Suggestion, though i'll stick with stryder loader without any more complications for other users out there. Stryder is simple no other initialization optimization required.

Unfortunately stryder loader does not send any information about the client to the server, so I did not use it. Just Loader blocked by standard in esteamation and crash some server with revemu

That's why I combine them, using Stryder for CEG, Server-Browser and setting the player name.
From the latest RevEmu I only use the Steam.dll which goes into the <root>\bin folder replacing the original L4D2 Steam.dll and the rev.ini which goes into the <root> folder.
So Stryder's Loader offers a perfect CEG patcher and fluent Server-Browser and the RevEmu (Steam.dll) sends his Infos to the Server and allows you to connect to any properly Cracked Server.

Here's my complete Setup:
  1. <root>\left4dead2.exe (Stryder)
  2. <root>\stryder.dll
  3. <root>\stryder.ini
  4. <root>\rev.ini
  5. <root>\bin\Steam.dll (RevEmu 9.8.2)
  6. <root>\steam\Steam.dll (Original Steamclient file)
  7. <root>\steam\steamclient.dll (Original Steamclient file)
  8. <root>\steam\tier0_s.dll (Original Steamclient file)
  9. <root>\steam\vstdlib_s.dll (Original Steamclient file)

rev.ini
  1. SteamDll=steam\Steam.dll

The Language setting in the rev.ini changes the Menu/UI language, the audio Language has to be set in the Registry.
