Post subject:  Getting a region restricted game as a gift?

I wanted to get a game that is not available in my region (US).
I am using a friend's account to download the game. That is working fine.

So, I can download the game (no proxy or Crack used), but I can not buy the game in my region.
Is it possible for me to get the region restricted game as a gift from a region that can buy it?

I think you can't activate your gift in your region if it's restricted...
I may be wrong as I didn't checked it...

I did some reading on Steam Forums and it says it can't be gifted since it's "an MMO" Which is weird since it isn't. It's a Micro-transaction powered game.

Edit:
Looking for confirmation from any Rin staff that is EU/UK.

If the game is gift able your friend (living in a region the game is available) can gift it to you. No region check.
You yourself won't be able to buy DLC or anything related to this game through Steam.

Are these micro-transactions going through Steam?

PeJpepiG
The Micro-transactions are though the game's own Store, not Steam/Valve.

PM sent to PeJpepiG for additional help request/information.

Thanks to PeJpepiG for some information. I now know this, you can't gift the game in question (stupid, I know). I can download and play the game no problem.

The question now is a simple one. What happens if someone in the EU/UK buys a game on my US Steam account? Will the subscription stay when I log on in the US? Anyone have any information on this?

You are technically not allowed to give your account details to anyone, especially not to someone in a different country. However if you supposedly happen to be in that different country, you should be able to login to your Steam account. If the purchase country is bound to your account (which is not likely), but to the country where you logged in from, I don't see a real problem in buying that game you want. I will have a look at the agreement and then I will be able to tell more (I have never actually read that agreement before).

EDIT: I have read the SSA, doesn't say anything about this matter.

While that would get me the country/region, I do not have a bank in the EU/UK so the payment will fail.

I am calling this solved since PeJpepiG helped me out with this.

The answer to this is:
That some games are not region restricted and some are. If you buy a game from another country, you may or may not be able to run said game.
