[Problem] Steam accounts disable , why and how ?

Hello,

I have a LAN party next WE , with steam games.
In order to manage effectively the party, I created 8 accounts lan1,lan2,...lan8 with only one email adresse.
The next day , accounts were disabled ...

Then yesterday , I created 8 new accounts with one email adress par account.
Some were already disabled :-/
I received a mail for each account to validate email address (that I didn't validate) , but Steam says it's only in case you lost your password ....

Why accounts were disabled so quickly and how can I avoid that ?

Maybe they tracked it according to your IP address, meaning that 8 accounts per IP address might have been a bit too many according to their liking and thus disabled them. I'm not saying its because of that, but it might be a possibility.

You'rt right , I could be a possibility.

But there's many case a lot of steam account can have the same IP :
university, school, internet coffee, lan party...

I'd rather think about the clientregistry.blob file ?

I don't know if it is the best solution to create the accounts before the lan. Maybe it's better to let each player to create its own account the lan day .

But I'm just curious about the process used by Steam to decide what account to disable.

Probably cause you made tons of accounts with no games in short time from same ip & same machine (steam has unique machine id for you)

I think the same, too. We can only guess here, you should contact Steam support to know what actually happened.

Another issue is shared EMail. Shared Email + banned account = multi account ban.

The second time I created accounts , I used a different email each time.

So I bet for Machine ID + clientregistry .
