I think it's pretty obvious. With Crysis 2, more than ever, Crytek focused on bringing the graphics to the next generation and as such they don't even have 64-bit executables of the game. You see, when you do only a 32-bit Direct-X 9 version of a game the size of Crysis 2 it's heck a lot easier than a 32/64-bit Direct-X 9/10/11 one. And if somebody wondered "but why 32-bit" and/or "but why Direct-X 9" then the choice of creating a 32-bit game obviously comes from the fact that the majority of Windowses are 32-bit ones (or capable of running 32-bit apps) and Direct-X 9 is the most widely used Direct-X version at the moment (in fact, it's the only one in consoles, according to fishboy beneath this post). DX 8 is not "enough" and 10 is already too much since XP doesn't understand it (and you also need a GeForce 8 or Radeon R600 (HD 2000) series graphics card).

But anyway, even _then_ they ran out of time and had to bring a (bugfix) patch for the game just 1 day after the release (the game was released in North America 22nd - the patch 23rd): http://www.gamershell.com/news_113860.html

Before ranting on about how Crysis 2 must be a "fail" because the graphics aren't DX10/11 you should at least have a look at them and _then_ decide whether this tactic was worth it or not (though, that is apparently impossible since there's no crack(s) for it at the moment).

Well since consoles can only do directx 9 i think its pretty obvious why thats all this game has.

does anyone know that do teh crysis have more graphics options ( sliders,on/off etc.. ) or we just have to agree those three shitty presets Gamer-Advaced-Hardcore ..<-- if those, then it will sux hardd !

From what I know at the moment, yes there'll be only presets accessible ingame.

Don't believe everything you hear. Why would Crytek pay crackers to not crack their game? Why would Razor1911 and Skidrow ever agree to not crack a game? Even if they were paid like $10 000 to not crack it there still would be no way whatsoever to determine that it wasn't them who cracked (or helped to crack) it.

Does someone REALLY believe all this bullshit?

Not sure about the 360, since it's a Microsoft console, but the PS3 doesn't even use Directx AT ALL. It uses OpenGL ES and since it has programmable shaders it can do pretty much anything DX10, and even DX11 (theoretically, it'll probably suck at it because of the hardware limitations) can.

this is the same protection as dead space 2
it will probably be cracked by FLT

i will not waste time trying i am busy with other stuff right now,
the game is not nearly as good as the first one
for those thought the first one was shit, this one will probably be a planet filled with deadly aliens shit

from my experience the 1st one was better
this one is a disappointment.

Crysis 2 is fantastic. If you like the nanosuit concept and want to play around in a new environment, it's everything you could possibly want. Spare us the hilarious "I'm not going to pirate your stupid game" posts that always creep out when something isn't cracked immediately.
