EASY WAY TO GET CSS to install steam: - make an account that does not have any games on it, and if u have a steam account already w/ games on it, make a new with with diff username and password 1. download steam from steampowered.com 2. install steam 3. create steam account Download css: 1. download azureus and java clients http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ (unless u prefer a diff bit torrent or already have 1) 2. install azureus and java 3. download css: http://www.torrentspy.com/search.asp?mo ... ils&id=503 or http://bittorrent.damage-web.net/details.php?id=1&hit=1 (whichever tracker is working at the time) 4. download css update #5: http://bittorrent.damage-web.net/details.php?id=5&hit=1 5. download css update #6: http://bittorrent.damage-web.net/details.php?id=74 6. download css update #7: http://bittorrent.damage-web.net/detail ... d=80&hit=1 7. d/l css update #8: http://bittorrent.damage-web.net/downlo ... iO.torrent 8. d/l css update #9: http://bittorrent.damage-web.net/downlo ... iO.torrent You can always find more update torrents at most of the bittorent websites u may need 2 log in tracker website to use torrent if u get a blacklisted port, use port 49500 ---------------- SET UP ----------------------------------------- to install css: 1. make your new css folder, extract all the files from css.rar d/l in there. example: C:/program files/CSS 2. extract css update emporio #5 to desktop.(click on the update #5.rar and the others will auto extract) Go into the update folder. Put the files from file folder into css root folder. 3. extract css update #6 to desktop. Go into the update folder. Put the files from file folder into css root folder, 4. extract css update #7 to desktop. Go into the update folder. Put the files from file folder into css root folder 5. extract css update #8 to desktop. Go into the update folder. Put the files from file folder into css root folder 5.5 extract css update #9 to desktop. Go into the update folder. Put the files from file folder into css root folder and the files out of crack/online play into css root folder(dont do anything w/ online play folder if u want to play lan, and be sure to rename steam.dll to something like steam2.dll---this is for lan or listenserver only) 6. (FOR ONLINE PLAY ONLY)edit your steamapp for your install path(where you created your source folder),ie: SteamAppId=92 #SteamAppVersionId=0 SteamInstallPath="C:\Program Files\CSS" # [as is clearified later on, this should be your email address:] SteamAppUser=yourname SteamUserPassphrase="yourpassword" 7. make a shortcut of HL2.exe from your CSS folder on your desktop w/ the taget -steam -console -game cstrike -heapsize 128000 (make sure there is a space between "C:/yourinstallpath"and the -steam.....) ie: "C:\Program Files\CSS\hl2.exe" -steam -console -game cstrike -heapsize 128000 or make a shortcut to the hl2 launcher 8. run steam.exe and login 9. go into valve folder(STEAM) and copy clientregistryblob file and paste it into css folder 10. shut down steam 11. start hl2.exe shortcut on desktop --if u still have missing textures on new prodigy map, try this patch: http://rapidshare.de/files-en/430233/CS ... L.exe.html ---if your steamapp and shortcut target is all correct, and u still get an error that says not logged in, then copy steam.dll out of css/bin and put it in css folder------- for lan play........still apply updates in the file folder, but not from the onlineplay folder, and rename steam.dll in css folder to like steam2.dll |
