Ok....
some people reported the need for a proper client.dll file that will make the game not crash..
well I'm sure it's included in my release.. but anyway here it is again:

but hl1 folder in root hl2 folder then make shortcut to hl2.exe and add line -steam -game hl1

hmm i have no problems....do u have steamengine in hl2 folder?

ok Thal, you're missing the file:
Launcher.dll from your Bin folder..
the one inside your MAIN Half-Life 2 Directory..
x:\xxx\Half-Life 2\Bin\Launcher.dll
and here is a link for it for a quick access..

Hey Thal, do you have a working Half-Life 2 Game?
I mean have you played Half-Life 2?
if yes then this game should work fine as well after applying the proper Cleint.dll
so let's try something...
shortcut:
-game hl1 -steam \ or / -steam -game hl1
then as a note: I dont use steamengine.exe with my half-life 2 files and same goes to Half-Life 1
keep trying and if still having problem then I suspect a missing files in the bin and the Main Half-Life 2 Directory..
let me know...

At first i will unpacked my hl² release again i believe i make something wrong by installing hl source and installing the client.dll.
i hope its work i will play hl source _________________
