now I can !!

hey this looks awesome but when i run hl2install.exe a black MS-DOS window pops up for about 1sec then goes away. Then when i check my SteamApps/user there is no Half-Life 2 folder there?

try redownload Update to current, and dont edit the steamemu.ini before running the installer. not sure if this is the problem. you could also try running it in dos and see if you see an error

hey man, its not woking for me. I have downloaded all of the HL2 gcf files and the hl2:dm gcf file. They are all 100% ready. There aslo the latest versions because i just got them all about 2 hours ago. However when i open Half-Life_2_Update_TO-CURRENT-VENGEANCE_monste then open up an installer (eg HL2DMInstaller) i click hl2dminsatller.exe then the box pops up for about half a second then goes away. I thenk check my SteamApps/username folder and there is nothing there. So then i edit the steammenu.ini file to

SteamOnline=1
SteamUser=myusername
SteamPassword=mypassword

and the same thing happens.

What am i doing wrong?

well i dont do those LONGGG steps.
all i do is two very simple steps and that is using steam f***ered.
and crack the steam. then for updates,
i just use my dedicated server and update the games i want to.
its that very simple

dedicated server way cannot get half-life 2 content .gcf or source engine .gcf

I have steam installed in "c:\archivos de programa\valve\steam"...

Do I have to install it again on "c:\program files..." before running the installers or can I just edit the steamemu.ini to my install path???

edit: and after I have edited steamemu.ini, do I have to run steam with or without the patch tool??

look for the folder user not username the installer placed the files there X:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\user

not: X:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\your username

When I make an steam account, is it suppost to create a folder with the username of the account?
(ex. C:/Program files/valve/steam/steam apps/username/) ?

Nice work Monster:d I can update my HL Source GCF now. Little but now this file is up to date. You done a package of hl1 source files to run from the Vengeance emulator. From hl1 folder you only need bin folder with client.dll and server.dll and gameinfo.txt. Just a tip. I've finished HLS without any bugs. Respect for you. WAiting for update when Dod:S will be release. Cya
