If you dont update, you will not be able to play online
But try to set steam.dll to write-protected.. Maybe disconnect the network when starting steam might work (?)

Yes the zbos's method works great
For those who can't download anything from steam, i've found a fix...
Start any game, and when you arrive in the main menu exit.
Then try to download any games from steam and now it magically works
Sorry for my english but i'm italian

Laeo tnx for you new fix but when i tried to download something (ex source dedicated server, half life ecc) it didn't work for me.
It works only with the method i've wrote before.
1)Start a game with steam and exit immediately arrive at the main menu,
2)Try to download something from steam and now it works

I think it's from Valve and his buggy steam, I get the blue screen sometimes  , someone knows 'bout a localized for hl2dm: half-life 2 deathmatch_language.cfg exists?

For those who have problem, get new file (It fixes ddl problems, 100% & offline mode indicator)...
Not fully tested, test it by yourself and give feedback here...
PS: Thx do not post this trick out there (thread or forum...)

probs going to get flamed n sheit, but i didnt see no readme file so.. i wonder!
how does the emu work? i never used it before? it has an css installer...but how do i make it work? plz help

Laeo this new version seems to work perfectly
I'm downloading cz right now.
i notice also that now all the game are 100% completed and works also in offline mode
