those are the instructions.....as I told u, I ran the .exe file....now I have lots of files in my steamapps/user folder.....nothing has been modified in counter strike source, hl2 dm or hl2 folder.....so I ask again, how does this work? are you using vengeance release? if yes.. tell me what folders you have in \USER\ folder... I´m using steamemu.....I have steamapps/user/counter strike source, steamapps/user/half life 2 and steamapps/user/half life 2 deathmatch..

i think that hl1 based games should work coz the engine of source games only updated so... tell me if im wrong

after that config your steamemu.ini correctly try to add under
[Emulator] this line OriginalSteam= HERE SHOULD BE YOUR STEAM.DLL LOCATION
example:
[Emulator]
OriginalSteam=c:\program files\valve\steam\steam.dll
after that check if your usernae and password are correct and put online option to 1
if that wont work then something wrong w\ your game not my fix..
as you see it works well

i'm not sure what the hl fix is actually for, besides adding support for mods by adding lines in the steamemu.ini and copying over steamapps.ini (not even sure it's needed at all).
try downloading a copy of the "source engine.gcf" files that were made right before the update to get the games (HL2/HL2DM/CSS) working again:

well, it IS a temporary fix

So the ppatcher proved to be more reliable than the emu, but maybe only this time. I don't know which one to stick with.

for thos who said it doesnt work and see folder could not be found..
it coz u dont have this folder and its not needed to copy there the files but for the games u have installed it will install the fix and thats it dont worry about the error u get from installer..

hmmm.. well its kinda suck install my fix and get errors when installing it..
im going to work on the installer when im done im gonna post it so stay tooned for 110% working fix\update emu :>
