here are the source engine files (the ones in \SteamApps\SteamUser\GameName\bin\) from "source engine.gcf" right before the update.

you will be forced to temporarily downgrade these files in order for the steam emulator by hCUPa to work. hopefully hCUPa will release a fixed version of his wonderful emulator in the near future.

* there is a fix by d4rkman's (didn't test myself), but i prefer the files from the actual .gcf (obtained right before the new update) rather than files that have been fiddled around with.

THIS RELEASE CONTAINS:
engine.dll (unmodified)
FileSystem_Steam.dll (unmodified)

THE ADDITIONAL ARCHIVE CONTAINS:
client.dll (unmodified)
server.dll (unmodified)[/color]

JUST EXTRACT THE CONTENTS OF THE ARCHIVE(S) TO THE LOCATION LISTED IN RED.

These files are not needed!
Move the steam.dll, steamapps.ini and steamemu.ini (from hCUPa 2.50) into the "hl2" folder of each source game. Mine is working fine, was just playing CSS online .

kuntakintai, that didn't work for me.
monkeyspank, only engine.dll and FileSystem_Steam.dll are needed.

haha, i thought so (that not all, but a only a couple of files were needed).
i didn't have the time to check which ones were necessary to archive so i rar'ed the whole damn folder

anyway, thanks fuzzlet. you guys can also thank him for taking 3.2MB off of the previous pack, which makes the download now 1.22MB :wink:

replacing bin folder after using 2.50installer will kick me to the main screen of HL2 while creating the game. The HL2 menu is also not animating, just the plain background.

CSS works fine.

ah yes. you're right. you need an extra two files to run hl2

hCUPa's v2.50 not work at all !!!

when I start the shortcut created by the hcupa's v2.50 ,only Microsoft ERROR report turns up !!

EDIT:and your tow RAR need Password !! ????

1) the hCUPa emulator works with the archives listed above.

2) wow. try looking on the line directly below the download link.

3) follow instructions and it will work.
