The reason it was working for me was I was still using ppatcher to start steam :oops:
Anyways I only copied the old engine.dll and FileSystem_Steam.dll to the Source bin folders and it's working with the normal steam running. So what is d4rkm4nx.dll for?

but atm. we dont hve the time to patch engine.dll and filesystem_steam (latest) they both have new checks :roll:

yeah. its nothing special. like i said, they're just files from the old engine .gcf. however, they get the job done. once again, i did mention that this was a temporary solution. :shock:

i did what i could, as fast as i could, without ripping off of other people's stuff :wink:

hmm. i was almost sure that "FileSystem_Steam.dll" was from EMPORiO's release -at least that's what i understand.
i checked the one in your release and the one from EMPORiOs and they both have the same MD5 hash, SHA1 hash, and CRC-32. :roll:

i think at least that file was borrowed :wink:
