If hCUPa would relese 1.1 he would post that. I think this is a virus

I checked the thread http://cs.rin.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11094, which has two files posted, which are both version 1.0, so I agree there is no 1.1

Just to be clear, I added an extra memory patch line copied from SteamCrack to the original launcher of hCUPa and changed it to version 1.0.1

Hmm ok. but some n00bs are posting lots of viruses on this forum

Steps I done to make it work

->Installed Official Steam , copied my already downloaded gcf's in steamapps

->Launched Steamlauncher with internetconnection (checked save password thingie) : Everything allright like with the normal steamlauncher.exe can play all games.

->Then I tried offline mode ( no internetconnection )
Launched Steamlauncher : Error steamengine could not be started
tried multiple times always same error

->Launched normal steam.exe could choose offline mode but offcourse I can not play games with normal steam

->Launched Steamlauncher again and I can choose offline mode
but I haven't got games I can play

Oh well It would have been too good to be true ! Back to use the non steam down mess bah

When you get can't load steamengine, try alt - ctrl - del and closing steamengine and load steamlauncher again, it might work.

no that won't work cause there isn't a steamengine instance running at all

he already released v1.1, but not here.

Hmm, strange... I did exactly the same steps as you did. I also got the steamengine could not start error, but not always... not sure what's causing it...
Anyways, I have everything as you, except that I do have the games in the list in offline mode and I can play them.
Maybe, the games started updating when you were in online mode, I think they have to be at 100% before they work offline.


Do you know what changed comparted to 1.0? Because in this thread the files were exactly the same as 1.0.

I think it was a smal bug fix

i think he only fixed a few bugs or he simply wrote a wrong version....

Don't think it's a virus. Norton also searches for cracks

if he downloaded the lauchner from this thread http://cs.rin.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11094 (the lycos link) then its a virus i've downloaded the 2 files in this thread and the file you can dl from the lycoslink is a virus.

Then the person who uploaded it has a virus on his computer.
My Norton doesn't say anything about a virus.

Ok, I downloaded the SteamLauncher 1.1 and that file has a virus, not the original 1.0 version.
