I can see my local server in the LAN tab in case that's of any help.

So, it can be concluded that version 1.1 release works well regarding the lan tab. And my problem is due to my network environment (or anything else). But I am really at a loss of where to go, to fix my problem, since it looks good for my network configuration. Anything else could be involved in this problem?

And I suspect that the upcoming ver 1.3 would not solve my lan tab problem, if I didn't find the root cause (which probably has nothing to do with Fasi's release).

:-(

-- Edit1 --

By the way, Fasi/Rar, are your testing with ver 1.1 release done on Windows 7? My testing was done on Windows XP (not having another computer with 7). Not sure whether this would make a difference. If possible, could either of you do a similar testing on Windows XP?

-- Edit2 --

And, Rar, from your screenshot, it looks you created the server in one computer and tested the lan tab in another computer (if the server and the client are in the same client, the client side's latency would have been 0, instead of 13). So, would you bother to test it again, on the same computer to create the server and start the client to see whether the server can be seen in the lan tab? Thanks!

I can install MicroXP on a virtual machine and let you know.

I ran the server in the same computer. I have no idea of why the latency was 13, since as you correctly stated, it should be zero.

It will also works for Windows XP.
Your latency can't be zero, because server runs on 64 fps and max limit is 100 fps. so there would be 5 - 10ms delay

Thanks for your testing, Fasi. Just can't figure out how come the lan tab never works for me. :-(

By the way, regarding the latency, I remember back when I was playing CS 1.3 and 1.5 with my collegues around 2001 and 2002, my latency is always 0 if it is me who created the lan game. So I guess at that time, the server runs at the max limit of fps?

I tried another 1.6 release, the portable one by ZeroX (viewtopic.php?f=32&t=46974), and still can't find the local server in the lan tab.

I guess this proved that something wrong with my network environment, or something else. But I can't figure out what goes wrong. :-(

If you have created listen server, latency will not shown in scoreboard. At 100 fps average latency will be ~10ms.
May be in ver 1.3 LAN tab works for you too. :)

Looks like you have figured out why the lan tab doesn't work in my machine, Fasi?

Version 1.3 has been released :D
Go to first page for details

From now onwards
Favorites servers location: ...Counter-Strike\config\ServerBrowser.vdf
Master servers location: ...Counter-Strike\config\MasterServers.vdf

Note: It is better to delete previous installation folder and desktop shortcuts before new installation
and there is no need to apply bugs_fix and bot_enable patch anymore

Enjoy and do give feedback thanks :)

Thank you for the new version.

Unfortunately, the game crashes with bots, because it can not find the file msvcr100.dll.
I think this is a problem with the new version of Metamod.

(Sorry for my bad english.)

Post subject:  Re: Counter-Strike 1.6 – WaRzOnE v1.3

@Timbo
msvcr100.dll file has been added and updated the download link
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Known minor bug:
Cracked game servers (with dproto) will list as non VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) secure, although servers are VAC secure. As VAC is not applicable on non-Steam players so this is not a big problem.

This minor issue can be solved by editing rev.ini config file but there is a trade off.

Open rev.ini in notepad delete the following lines and save
  1. [External]
  2. "SteamMatchMakingServers"=revSrvBrowser.dll
  3. SteamMatchMakingServers=revSrvBrowser.dll
  4. "SteamMatchMaking"=revSrvBrowser.dll
But now only protocol 48 servers can be added to favorites.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now I've used 7zip (LZMA) compression instead of WinRaR, which reduces setup size to 251MB instead of 296MB

Some screenshots of 7z SFX installer:

As I expected, this new release still can't show the local game in the lan tab. Guess it is a problem of my own notebook or my network environment, but can't pin down the root cause. Frustrated...

Anyway, this release is a huge improvement of the last one, clap, clap, clap! So far, this is the best WaRzOne release. Nice work, Fasi!

This is the rapidshare mirror I made for your 1.3 release.

Lastly, don't forget to put the screenshots back into your release blog. :-)

And don't forget to update your release in Setti. It is tedious to have to maintain so many release sites. :-)
