Hey guys, Firstly, the forum is awesome. Secondly, I found the FAQ: what's the easiest way to play steam games on LAN, very helpful and I have acquired UCL. However, I'm attempting to play L4D2 on LAN, hopefully uncensored because I live in Australia and have a crappy, censored legit steam version of the game, and I'm not sure how to go about this. I thought I may need to set up a dedicated server in order to play l4d2 on LAN so I used the instructions on this blog: http://blog.theevilpc.com/2009/11/left- ... setup.html However, I get the error message: The procedure entry point SteamAPI_UseBreakpadCrashHandler could not be located in the dynamic link library steam_api.dll. I think this means that Sobeit's steam_api.dll that I used is outdated or something. In conclusions I'm surprised that simply playing a game on LAN could be so difficult. Please help, my apologies if this topic has been dealt with already, I've been trawling the internet for days trying to find a solution. -Quiver |

Bit of a noob over here, but I need help. As of late, none of my cracked steam launchers will run. This includes isteam, SmartSteam, GreenLuma. AVSMP, Undead Injector, and ZSP. They all simply go to the "connecting to steam account" screen, and crash. Help will be appreciated, and sorry if this in in the wrong forum |

Hmmm... Strange that usually doesn't happen.Try this: delete everything from your Steam folder except Steam.exe and steamapps(you don't want to re-download all the games now).Launch Steam.exe like normal to download all the required stuff, then try again. |

I got a question not listed here. First off, I owned HL2 and then own a HL2 episode pack which contain episodes one and two. I never owned the Orange Box. I used the no-steam cracks on those and all are seemingly to run well, except with the Orange Box Source SDK Base. The crack does not recognize this so that HL2 add-ons that depend on the Orange Box Source SDK Base do not work even if HL2 and HL2 Episodes One and Two run well. Now how can I run some Half-Life 2 add-ons that requires both Episode Two and the the Orange Box SDK even when it's cracked? Even if I bought the Orange Box, there's no cumulative update to download all updates into one without Steam. There are no websites or forums for an Orange Box cumulative patch update from then till now (involving the recent Orange Box Source SDK Base) and with the no-steam crack specifically for that. |

I have a question. I cannot play portal or team fortress 2 it says that "only one instance of the game can be running at a time". I tried resetting steam and opening it again or pressing Ctrl, Alt, delete and then ending the HL2.exe process then opening team fortress or portal but it still wont open i tried doing all this after ressetting my computer but no luck either. -- Edit -- wait portal works but team fortress2 does not and trust me I have reset my computer 3 times and the same problem always comes up with it |

tham007 I think you have download source sdk base 2007.gcf from here for that to work.Cracked Steam can't download it. seb100172 Clean you registries with CCleaner and also go to Steam\steamapps\<account>\ and delete everything there.Cache defragmenting and cache checks from Steam also might help. |

somethinglike123 just extract the .gcf files in the steamapps folder as for many other games, which use .ncf files it's slightly different. .ncf files go to steamapps, the content of the games should be in /steamapps/common/<game name> I though the stickies in the SCS section explain that. |
