Hello. Slowhacking is a bitch for HL1, DoD, CS 1.6 and a few other games. But people have found a way around it for a long time by either locking the config.cfg as read-only or migrating settings to userconfig.cfg. But this fix is a bit dirty since it won't allow you to change configs as easily. It's also not that good of a solution since slowhacked clients still have to either manually reload the config or restart their client. I'm trying to change that. But I've run into issues. I decided to learn a little about the UI and .res files and found that you can bind "engine exec config.cfg" to clickable buttons. What I want to do is exec the config either after each server disconnect, or during the loading screen of connecting to a new server. Unfortunately the commands can only happen when an option is clicked, and there are many ways to connect or disconnect, either by interface or by console, some don't involve clicking UI options, and this variety in entry/exit points is complicating my work. So my question is: where and how can I execute a console command when the client connects/disconnects? |
