sam2k8 wrote: Enemy Within update v1.0.0.9040: http://www.firedrive.com/file/5694D5B4A121E19D this probably will only work on Ivy bridge processors. Thanks for the update but it seems a bit odd. Your update has no updated files in the XEW directory yet you say we have to start the game from there. In there the version.txt says: Date: Tuesday, October 01, 2013 3:34 PM Changelist: 394142 The update contains updated files in the Binaries dir of the main folder. Those files doesn't work. In there the version.txt says: Date: Wednesday, March 05, 2014 3:01 PM Changelist: 402256 In game the version number is not displayed. I'm not sure if your update works for anyone. It seems the old version is launched instead. Are you sure this is right? Edit: Well, you update needs to be extracted into the XEW dir. and not the main dir?! Did that. Now the launcher works but the game is not. When I click to enemy withing tha launcher closes and nothing happens. |

Thanks for the update but it doesn't work for me, I'm using the Reloaded release and an AMD Phenom II processor. It just launches the game executable then immediately closes it without any error messages. Is it helpful if I post the LumaEmu_CEG.log file? -- Edit -- ahab wrote: sam2k8 wrote: Enemy Within update v1.0.0.9040: http://www.firedrive.com/file/5694D5B4A121E19D this probably will only work on Ivy bridge processors. The people that got it to work either have Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge processors which according to Wikipedia are almost the same. Maybe it's related to that. |

How come the game exe is cpu specific? Th3_34GLE wrote: ahab wrote: Th3_34GLE wrote: You're supposed to put the updated files in the XEW folder, that's where Enemy Within is. The game seems to have CEG since @sam2k8 included a LumaEmu_CEG.dll file with the update and the game won't launch without it, I really don't know but is it related to our problem? Also if you look at the LumaEmu_CEG.log file it's pointing to "My Documents\My Games\XCOM - Enemy Within" not to where the game is installed, this could be a problem too. |

Steamworks fix for both games if you want to play with your friend. first make sure your XComGame.exe version number is 1.0.0.55175, if you are using my enemy within update, delete the XComEW.exe in this Steamworks fix pack, Now unpack it to your game folder.

I'm trying to use the Reloaded version of Enemy Within, along with the cracked patch posted earlier in this thread, with the Long War mod - but I simply cannot get it to work. Here are my steps: 1) Install the Reloaded Enemy Within - but I do NOT install the crack. 2) Apply the downloaded patch from this site. 3) Run the Long War (Enemy Within version) installer. 4) Try to run the game from the Launcher - nothing happens. It works if I do not install the mod, but not with the mod installed. 5) I have tried to re-copy the .exe from the patch, and this does load the game up, and it 'registers' that Long War is installed, but many of the features are not present due to the .exe needing to be patched by the Long War installer. Any ideas? How can I get this to work? |
