First off, I've been lurking through here a couple of days and some of the links posted here have been very helpful, so all of you have my thanks.

However, I seem to have encountered two problems with both the newest patch and the HIP mod, and I can't really access the forums for obvious reasons.

The first issue is that after the 2.32 patch the launcher won't recognize the Celtic face pack dlc I possess, and as a result it doesn't work in-game. After some experimenting I've found out that the problem is that I edited the gfx file in the .zip archive some months ago in order to change the hair color hue of Celtic characters to my liking. This wasn't an issue with the 2.3 patch as I've downgraded my game to see and it worked fine.
How to fix this? Is there any way to mod the file and make the changes apply without re-archiving it? Because that seems to be the issue. I figure there ought to be a way to mod DLC files or maybe their anti-pirating measures are really that dense.

The second issue is with the HIP mod itself. Apparently playing as both the Byzantines and the Persians seems to give you western units on the map. I haven't checked with others cultures so I can't say if it applies to everyone. It's really immersion breaking to see a pale red-bearded Frankish soldier in Mesopotamia and southern Persia, even if it's just a model for an army. I just would like to see if others have that issue so I can hope for a next patch or possibly a way to fix it myself.

EDIT: I've managed to solve the thing with the face pack, and the second issue pertains to the EMF module, as installing the mod without it makes everything function correctly. However, I'd really like that module included so any info on that would be appreciated.

i notice that it is project balance inside hip mod that cause all unit form diffrent culture have same model (which is western troop model), but i still cant find solution to fix this. i would be very grateful if u guys solve this problem :D

Whew, that's a relief. For the last three days I thought I was the only one with this problem.

If this is a somewhat common problem the worst case scenario is to wait for them to fix it. Does anyone know when can we expect a new HIP version that hopefully patches this issue? What's the approximate time between updates?

Can someone post the Lux Invicta readme/FAQ? It's not included in the downloads on the repository, and it says read that if you're having performance issues. :D

Project Balance retinue folder, eh? That's a start. I'll try to fiddle around with HIP files tomorrow morning. I don't have high hopes but I have free time, and if I figure out anything useful I'll post it here. Thanks for the info.

I had the same issue, i played for about 70 years ingame, thriving on slave trade in egypt, but i stopped playing because the time was passing very slow and it was crashing every ≈6 months. Even though i have great proccesor (= to low tier i5's) and 4 gigs of ram ( the game at max used ≈2 gigs). I went back to vannila because atlease there i can play 400 years on perfectly smooth non crashing game.

If anyone has a link to Magnate Lords mod, if possible please share a link or atleast thoughts on the mod. If it is worth using for enjoyable fast stable game.

Solved it. :8=) I still have no idea what's precisely the cause of the problem, because I expected it to be a file related to units or graphics. Project Balance is indeed at fault, but deleting the retinue sub-folder didn't solve anything for me so you can restore it again.
The solution is... to simply delete the 'titles' sub-folder in the Project Balance 'history' folder. Don't ask my why, but the good thing is it shouldn't affect any mechanics/features of the mod whatsoever. It's just a record of past rulers for any held title, and vanilla has that already, so by deleting it you're not losing anything.

Enjoy the mod. :D

Can someone please post the latest version of the mod Friends & Foes? I tried "extracting" it from the lux invicta folder, but it only made the game start with a empty event bug (although i tried launching it with HIP), but i really wanted those two working together. The new map looks awesome, but they won't do a Charlemagne one =/

I've got a question - when can we expect release of new version?
And with which DLCs I should play 0.15?

Posted by Unuson (29-01-2015 14:43)
They don't have a set date, but they are working as best they can with the limitations to communicating between the active modders. The DLCs that should be disabled are all of the ones after Rajas of India, the rest must be disabled in the launcher, possibly including the smaller customization packs. Look at the CKII wiki on google for a list of DLC release dates, that's how I figured it out.

IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Due to the sheer memory mass of Lux Invicta, enough virtual memory must be freed up for the CK2 game engine, especially (but NOT ONLY) with a 32-bit OS. Please do the following at least once:

Vista/7/8
> Run command prompt as administrator
> Type: bcdedit /set increaseuserva 3072*
> Verify by typing bcdedit, and find the entry above.
> Reboot

XP
> Find boot.ini (usually on C:, might be hidden), mark it not read-only, and open
> Under the section called [operating systems] find the line that says "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Wind ows XP Professional...". Duplicate that entire line below.
> Add a space at the end and /3GB /USERVA=3072*
> Rename the OS name of that entry to identify it at startup
> Save boot.ini, then r-click and make it read only.
> Reboot

*any value above 2048 really (at least 2560), but restrict it to 3072 if you only have 4GB in your system.

FAQ
I'm getting Runtime Errors and/or random CTD's!!!
either:
a) make sure you have ALL face-pack DLC's if you're also using the DLC-requisite optional LI-BLC addon
b) make sure you followed the IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS above

I'm getting Black/Empty Portraits/Flags!!!
> first, make sure you did the Virtual Memory workaround above, as LI consumes a lot more memory by default
> for portraits: you are likely using the DLC-requisite LI-BLC addon, so make sure you have ALL face-pack DLC's if you want to use it.
> for flags: standard procedure (for any mod) is to delete the flag cache. Do so by deleteing the Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/Lux Invicta/gfx/flags folder.

Can I access your Secret Version Nouveau (SVN) build?
... uh, sure. Our resident backdoor-entrance guide Benblu will show you how.
Of course, it goes without saying any that your are morally obligated to report whatever bugs you notice in our internal build, for the benefit of all of course. That, and your saves can occassionally get bonked as we tweak files here and there.

edit: make sure to use https://lux-invicta-repository.googl...com/svn/trunk/ now instead

What are the changes in the new versions since Shaytana left?
To be honest, a whole lot. Well, more correctly, the base principles and lore of the mod has been kept intact, but a whole lot of mechanics have evolved in synchronity with the new main DLC's of Crusader Kings.
You can get an overview of the most significant changes by reading the LIBERT3 portal and checking the writeup there and the changelogs linked, as well as checking out both the Calibration Coordinates post for a comprehensive specifics guide as well as the [Contemporary Chronology] for the list of changelogs of the current version.

What is SELIN? LIBERT3? CHRONOS?
Spirituality Enhanced for Lux Invicta by Numahr (SELIN), is the religion overhaul module by Numahr, and is automatically integrated into the mod even before Shaytana left.
Lux Invicta Buildings & Events, Retinues & Tactics, Traits & Technology (LIBERT3), is the general balance module by riknap, and as of v6h is automatically integrated into the mod.
Project CHRONOS: The Time-Traveller's Overhaul for Lux Invicta (CHRONOS), is a rework of the existing landed titles by futuregary. It currently is for the directly-integrated in the mod for the purpose of fixing the setup of landed titles within a tolerable limit and within range of canon.

Is there a list of information regarding Authority requirements, CB requirements, and the like?
Yes, the Calibration Coordinates post, found in the same page (701) as this one.

How do I get rid of the cloud and calligraphy effects?
Those are the integrated Clouds of War and Decorus Visum mods.
You can revert the fog of war to vanilla by deleting the map/terrain/Fogowar.dds file, and revert the map font to vanilla by deleting the gfx/font folder entirely.

How do I use hotkeys in this mod?
The mod uses Arumba's Keyboard Shortcuts + Interface Adjust mod and keeps it updated regularly, so the shortcuts in that page are exactly the shortcuts in-game (except the ` key, which we transferred to the \ key as it was a hassle in using console for debugging).
In any case, there's a decision in-game that allows you to (re)view the hotkeys anytime (and the intro events also include an option to review them anyway).

I noticed some rulers have a "Blood of X" trait. Is that WAD?
Sort of. Those are bloodline traits that designate special historical dynasties who have a prestigious primogenitor who has helped shaped the LI universe to what it is now. Note however that the list of special dynasties is not fully covered yet. You can find a full list of the canon-special dynasties in the Calibration Coordinates post.

So, about Mongols and Aztecs...
Aztecs arrive around 150 years later than usual and with slightly smaller numbers than vanilla, to accomodate the fact that general troop sizes are smaller in vanilla.
As for "Mongols", they're Sino-Hellenic in this mod as per the timeline canon. How they'll be implemented however... is a qustion for another time.

I have questions and concerns regarding matters of game balance.
By all means, post them on this thread, and we'd be more than willing to hear them out. We always take the feedback of the players into consideration, and regularly make use of it to further improve this mod.

Can we export our saved-games to EU4?
You theoretically can, but the exported game will be pretty much bonked. We're planning on working on a project for either a standalone mod for EU4 or a modified converter script for CK2 instead, but that's a far-off project.

Any future plans for the mod?
Aside from continuously looking for awesome mods to integrate into LI as well as further tweaking, improving, and updating LI and adopting new content Paradox releases to the benefit of LI's setting? We're also planning a map-expansion to India using Umbra Spherae as well as potentially something that will tie-up with EU4, but that's for the far future really.

Chuunibyou Codex? What the hell?
Let me have my fun, okay?
