It has a DRM capability whether you like it or not. And if it isn't worth to be called a protection, just a service, why'd no one have it completely cracked already?

The protection on EXE's is called CEG,
but steam itself is a DRM service, they can always REVOKE your right to use the software, which is published on this platform.
=> so ruspol it is an DRM-service like origin and uplay too...

I'm a bit of a noob here... but I have managed to get this up an working.

But I have one question. Can games be downloaded without the "invalid depot config" error... Are there no fixes for this?

The appmanifest file, for the game I'm trying to download, has the correct depot info.

pirates can't use steam with all his functions and features like achievements, leaderboard, stats, matchmaking, cloud, workshop, trading cards and such, emulators are bullcrap. they can't download nothing except few games so obviously no one can completely cracked it. i can't call it DRM but it is primarily an online service for who buy games

No its a DRM-plattform with additional services, and btw. u can pretty use much of the services with fake-account
All Game-key specific features are unavailable to cracked games, jes, but Multiplayer/Friends is working too with corresponding fixes.

what u have to understand is that STEAM was created with a DRM-function + download-service FIRST, all other features were added as a time goes by...

Sniper elite v2 Orig game,added dlc,used appid patch but cant enter in ded server with dlc checked.
Is there a solution yet?

what? leaderboards, achievements and games download for example they don't work with a fake account. pirates are server ripped away. anyway to play properly a multiplayer game you have to buy it

I figured out how to download it but they keep saying an error has occured while installing (game) (invalid depot config) help?

if you dont own the game, you cant download it

Is there no fix for that error then? If I own a game with DLC, will I be able to download all of the DLC for that game?

I can play "USFIV" online with the REVOLT fix but I don't want my game to be run under name "Spacewar" in Steam, but it's original name so I can also play with all the legit copy owners of the game. Is there any way to do that?
