That was NOT my intention.

Processors are safe to operate at up to 70ºc+
So, working at 60ºc+ will NOT harm it at all.
Worry at 85-95
My CPU goes up to 75ºc (3770k) for longs periods doing video encoding regullary, because it's part of my current work.

Ah, right, sorry about that. But yeah, I'm using an i5-3570K and it barely goes over 60 degrees celcius on very heavy load. I really don't know about max CPU heat on AMD brand processors.
Back on topic, how optimized is the game, specifically, 2033 Redux? Same as LL?

that is the tCase temp which is different to core temperature (tJunction). core temps can go higher than that safely

No doubt. It's in the info I posted. Tcase is the proper temp to be concerned about if he's talking about temp at the heatsink interface.

Tjunction may be anywhere from 76c on some desktop CPU's, to 105c in mobile chips with BGA packaging. It is irrelevant to the vast majority of users. When Tjunction is hit the CPU, or GPU, will throttle down.
The temp to be concerned about as a user, is the one you can effect with proper cooling, which is Tcase. Which is why it's the one Intel references. If that is handled properly, Tjunction will never be hit.

Tried to run 2033 Redux with Update 2 and I've got MSVCP110.dll error. Already got all C++ updated for both x86 and x64. I never had any error like this with other games before. What happened?

I made a No Intro EXE because I got tired of waiting for someone else to.

http://www.firedrive.com/file/D47604A9353FABEF

If you don't trust it, here's the IDA DIF I made.

  1. This difference file has been created by IDA Pro
  2.
  3. metro.exe
  4. 008178A1: 03 65

Code/EXE is for the FTS Update 2 Cracked EXE.

I don't know why you guys are that obsessed over skipping the intro. It only runs for like, 20 seconds or so, not 2 minutes

No need for a modified .exe, just rename ".\Metro 2033 Redux\2033\legal.ogv" to "legal.bak" and then create a .txt file that you rename "legal.ogv". That's only for the pre-rendered intro, for the next press E to skip!

I got the same error, updated to 2012 redist. Now it throws the "Metro Redux Executable has stopped working" error after trying to launch the game.

mmmmmm
I download both M:2033 and M:LL (and updates 1 and 2 for both games)

Installed M:2033 (game works)
Installed Update 1 (no problems occurs while blue window is updating)
Copy content of Pdate 2 folder to root game directory, and apply the crack files.
(The game doesnt run anymore) ... when try to start it a black window (fullscreen) appears
and disappear in less than one second, no crash messages :/

(I tryed 2 times)

I did exactlly the same steps for M:LL
Base game works, after added update 1 and 2 game still running.

Whats the probem with M:2033 ??? :( (I want the volumetric light) !!!
