Hm so im not only person with frame drops it's kinda wired sometimes it's smooth and sometimes not. I doubt if it's hardware since i don't feal even minimal heat from fans...

Its not the hardware, its the game. And triple buffering is not helping at all.

triple buffer in nvidia control panel only works with OpenGL, this game is DX3D I believe.

ShadowDuke wrote: gitaroo wrote: triple buffer in nvidia control panel only works with OpenGL. Where did you pick up this nonsense? That's how triple buffering works for NVIDIA and AMD drivers. If it had always worked with Direct3D games, there wouldn't be a need for D3DOverrider (which, btw, is outdated for 64-bit games). That is one of the few things that for some reasons, never got implemented properly.

Anyone force VSYNC OFF, and see if helps? I'm at work and just had this idea, so I can't test it.

linkjoy123 wrote: Anyone force VSYNC OFF, and see if helps? I'm at work and just had this idea, so I can't test it. fps gets better, most of the time at 60fps but still it goes to 30fps time to time and tearing is terrible. locking it at 30fps right now is the best option.

You could use nvidia inspector like me and set 30 fps that will turn off vsync and enable triple buffer in nvidia panel. Helps a bit. Still it's wired boss battle with big boss lots of effects smooth. 2-3 lame enemies sometimes lags like hell i don't get it... It kinda remindes me of FFXIII i has incredible shutter in chapter 1-2 after that it was smooth so i quess it's really game problem. So if for some people fps is problem wait for patch but you can wait forever...

Having it at 30 FPS is good enough and shouldn't cause any problems. If it doesn't drops lower than 30, I don't see why people are whining.

ShadowDuke wrote: It does drop below 30fps, seeing it here and many other people! (with or without cap) Also read this article from durante about FF13 and why it performans so shitty. http://www.pcgamer.com/final-fantasy-xi ... s-verdict/Well, if it drops below 30 at fullHD resolution and/or lower on 4-core cpus and something like geforce 500 series or newer GPUs, that's definitely sad. However the article you linked doesn't indicates that. In fact it claims that "they never drop below 30 FPS, outside of the occasional loading of battles or cutscenes". Having it at 30 fps is absolutely enough (and in fact enough for most games in general). Most of the benefits from 60fps you're getting is the satisfaction from knowing that your super expensive PC is not useless.
