The article not that it drops under 30fps, but the comments. And comments by users are people like you and me :) which also confirms it.

I completely agree with Durante's verdict. It's a shame the games' graphics are so limited and SE pretty much just copy and pasted Durante's work and made an official patch out of it. How much would it have cost SE to improve the options and fix the quirks? Maybe $5.000 per month per developer? And how many would you actually need? Probably only one after seeing what Durante achieved within a couple of days only (and not even full time). As for the framedrops and stutter it might have been enough to just include an option to limit the game to 30 FPS.

But with the relative luxury of source code access making more comprehensive changes much easier to accomplish, and professionals working on the game, wouldn’t it be nice to go beyond that?

Exactly this. But for some reason I doubt SE is going to invest more ressources in patching / fixing the games.

Where are stored the save files in "Final Fantasy XIII-2 CODEX" ?
The codex.ini say in "...\AppData\Roaming\Steam\CODEX\292140\remote" but the remote folder doesn't contain any file

After about 5 hours I can say, that there are a lot of technical and gameplay improvements over XIII. But unfortunately also some negatives.

THE GOOD:
+ you can jump (!?)
+ there's finally a map button
+ map alignment can be locked (facing north)
+ no annoyingly long first paradigm shift
+ monsters give you gil
+ leveling works with only a button press rather than having to hold it all the time (leveling took a lot of time in XIII!)
+ you can change outfits
+ the world seems much more alive with all the people around and you can talk to a lot of them
+ real sidequests
+ kind of open world like the old games right from the start
+ you can save almost everywhere
+ movie-like intro when loading a savegame ("previously on FF ...")
+ the camera is much more responsive and direct
+ the paradigm system is a little more flexible (you can define to concentrate or spread your attacks)
+ random enemy encounters are reintroduced and even explained (you can still escape instead of fight)
+ your battle performance has more impact and the effects are clearer on the result screen
+ they changed the initiative mechanic and improved it (for me at least)

THE BAD:
- the music is not exactly great
- only 2 player group
- the monsters can hardly be considered an adequate replacement for a third character
- the story is kind of easier to follow, but I'm not too intrigued up until now
- I somewhat miss the rest of the crew from XIII
- leveling system is not as clear and straight forward as the previous one
- you can't change your save slot or use different saves (on the same playthrough)
- the performance is still choppy and underwhelming overall

I think there's a enable/disable minimap button (Keyboard 1) and a dedicated button to go to the map screen in XIII (Keyboard X). If that's what you mean.
An you can change your saveslot in Historia Crux

Not true. When you are in Historia Crux press X and you can save in diffreant slot.

And yes game is choopy for me too im more pissed at grinding for monsters since you don't have third member...

What DLC package? There are no DLC for FFXIII-2 except what was included with it by default.

For What? This game is already too easy (on normal mode!). Even easier than FFXIII.
