Actually, it's not that difficult to acquire a custom rank, because we've had multiple cases of people just asking for one and the administrators fulfilling their requests. But in general, they're not supposed to be given away just like that. Earn your rank and then simply ask for it. Chances are you won't be denied. An example of people who most rightfully deserve a custom rank would be the Upload Crew group (even though most of them don't have one) and the Developers group.
Ok, I know that this is vveeeeeeery Old topic. But I was thinking, does anyone knows if I want to gain a special rank, how could that be possible?

Back when I wondered the same, it was just a matter of asking a mod or admin to give you one. Nowadays mods no longer can give or remove custom ranks, but you can send a PM to RessourrectoR or Mr.Deviance.

I think I read somewhere that threads that are over 3 years old automatically move to the archive section.Or was it the ones in the tutorial section. It had something to do with going from phpBB 2 to phpBB 3.

I know that the old main forum and foreign threads went here and the old tutorials here when RIN upgraded to phpBB 3. It says so on those subforum's descriptions.

About that 3 years thing: viewforum.php?f=15 <-- description of the Ancient Threads subforum explains it. It says relaunch anniversary because the auto-moving frequency is about one year, and it started when I was finished setting up phpBB3. Since you can't post in that section, this is probably what ChrisTX means.

I knew there was something! So if this thread is from 2005, how come it's not in that Ancient Threads subforum? 1 year automoving + 3 years means by the end of 2009 it should have been moved at lastest, or am I misunderstanding this?
