Well, i personally like Avast as it doesn't need much ressources and it has a good on-access protection. And, you can customize it fully, for example you can turn off P2P Protection, Outlook Protection, IM Protection, etc. And it has a cool style :P

none.

if i do? (about a yr straight with nuthin but agnitum firewall / spware module disabled)
ive been happy with kaspersky, nod32
and the resource hogs like f-secure or maybe bitdefender
avg & norton are gay.

and nod32 fanboys are delusional id like to add..

ive infected my self with a well know keylogger and it didnt do anything at all and only after a full scan did it nag the hell out of me with alerts and then i said yes when it asked me if it wanted it removed
and it ofcurse failed miserably and was incapable at removing common malware lol pathetic

so guess what i did ?
i installed kasperky and it detetected just after i rebooted
without the need for a full scan and it said remove ? and i said yup..
it did.. the end

moral of the story is Nod32 isnt as good as many want you to believe.
BUT i would still reccomend it to people and rate one of the best

all just my opinions ..feel free to tell me to fuck off ;)

Ye, i'm not really a fanboy, i was just sarcastically 'defending' nod32s honor. I've had same problems, it doesn't always detect. But it's the only not resource hogging decent anti virus...works for me...If you use nod32, you must not be an idiot an go on every site and run random exe files.

.cue said it all.

Don't use an AV. If you are going to use one, use Kaspersky. Eugene is the man!

All AV make computer slow. But Logic + Firewall = best anti virus out there.

Enjoy your kernel hooks.

Not using an AV atm, only Windows Firewall. But where I deploy AVs, it's Microsoft Security Essentials or Microsoft Forefront Client Security ( depends on application ).

Kernel hooks or not. When I got some virus from that fucking cafe PC, I did a full system scan with MSE and it couldn't find anything. Then I tried a KIS trial and it busted the virus right away.

If I think I am contaminated, I use Kaspersky's online scanner. My live-AV is MSE atm.

I am using Kaspersky, I saw on this website that it's on the first place on top ten best antivirus software, so I have decided to use it and it seems to be a good decision.

I used to use NOD32, but nowadays i use Linux, so i don't need it anymore.
But in case of emergency, on my friends PC's for example, i use a AVG and Kaspersky boot scanners.
