I am a semi-active member (I appear, am incredibly active, and then vanish), but I will answer this question as well. It really is quite an interesting question.
Hypothetically, if the database was erased and the whole server started over I would probably become WAY more active, because I'd hate to see a great community like this one fall apart, and all the work that had been done go to waste. I have backups of several useful posts and tutorials and allot of the steam tools from this site right on my harddrive in the event that something like that were to happen. I don't have the time to really contribute as much as I want to, however- if I needed to I would.
The reason WHY I am not an incredibly active member is because pretty much all that needs to be done is done. I don't have any money, so I can't offer any software. I could offer patches for the Orange Box games, and maybe useful tips and advice but really, noone needs it. It's all there. Plus, I have been fairly busy with college and attempting to find decent people to talk to in this wonderful state...
What keeps me coming back are a few things- of course, the occasional update, tool, tutorial, or game (this place provides better steam support than steam itself -_-), and the fact that I occasionally get bored and enjoy reading the posts here, and having a conversation.

What the fuck have you all done to my life?
That IS a long time. Well, if you enjoyed yourself it was time well spent. XD

I have been watching this forum since almost a year before I joined in 2005. I remember back in the days when we were going through some issues with trying to get a hold of aztec to expand the English section and when pacman actually "contributed" rather then annoyed people. As to why I say uhmm I must say im not to sure... I've never been a big poster but I do pop up from time to time I guess rin just has this nostalgic feeling that keeps me coming back.

Sorry for my bad English
Nearly all of us don't have English as a native language,so we can't bother you for that! If you really doubt your English,go here and ask in your OWN language!

odd... where did this thread come from? never seen it before
i think i will stick to rin as long as it exists because i simply like the rin-feeling (take that, ressr!). First i was a silent leecher, coming for cracked cs for lan play. after some time after getting so much from this community (still not posting) i thought it would be cool to give something back so i just started a first version of the update db without asking anyone and just showed a prototype to RessR and asked if he likes it after some more work (mostly on his and fellow devs side -> cdr script!) was put in it became what you use for your updates now and i finally started being an active member here ^^
(i´d feel guilty if i would not mention all the work of mods to bring old updates to the db, even it is OT so here are your credits! thanks again!)
No. I've been here for a large chunk of time, and enjoyed many great moments here. These days I'm not as active nor do I have as much time as I used to back in the day, but I still drop by every day.
