Hardcore rocker vs Rapganxta.
First, being limited to specific genres sucks.
Second, .. so don't be so LIMITED! I have to say that I like some rock genres and dislike others. I like some Rap (if mixed into other genres) or stuff like TripHop, where you can see musical.. skill.. but I dislike most.
Third, prejudices are for noobs. Real good and successful Trance artists DO have skill in creating great sound. Rockers are NOT all long-haired screamers or fucked in the head. Not ALL rappers have an IQ below 100 just because some texts are ridiculous.
Mr Dev, there's Christian Rock, too. There are so many subgenres and Rap and Rock even mix quite often, so how can you talk about Rap and Rock like there are only two groups?
(Comment: My personal experience is that many people that like hip hop try to be cool, since their music often tries to be cool, too. That's what I hate about it. Ganxta! Retarded. But there's good stuff, too. As long as the texts are good and the melody is not too simple and repetitive or if there are even instruments and influence from "real music", it can be great. That music scene just has too many wanna-bes with no brain.
I can't stand stuff like Korn either. I'm more into symbiosis of Rock and Electronic.)
Different music tastes are not in a war, grow up. Just the extreme parts bash each other, since they hate the stupidity of each other while not seing their own.
That clash's also because of subcultures emerging from music genres, specifically @ HipHop.

Talent, good sound - may it be good because of being complex or because of being catchy, meaningful, funny, entertaining lyrics and rhythm make music good!
I personally don't need a basic Music Maker 2005 beat in the background with nothing more than wannabe-lyrics saying "yo motherfucker, the world is shit get drugs bitch omg I'm the gangsta yeyeye, I'm tryin' ta make kewl lyrix n fail miserably because there's nothing in my brain to be a good artist, fuck you all" (hai Kollegah!).

Well but the thing is, Rock has more subgenres (even without influence of Electronic or Rap) than HipHop - therefore, generalizing Rock is more reckless than critizing HipHop, since the majority of HipHop is in fact of not very high musical value, if you look at it with the aspects of music I mentioned above.

Wrong. Historically and technically wrong. Hippies are the 1970s, Rock came up in the 1950s (don't take my word on this, but they're definitely from different times, lol); Rockers are no Hippies and Hippies are not all Rockers; today's Hippies listen to Psytrance.

P.S.: About Rammstein. Their texts are sick, but their music sounds great. "I think Industrial metal is a piece of shit outside the rammstein band." Well uhm, Static-X is quite good as well.
