Crap.. all i wanted is to have a discussion about some PS3 dongle.. Why do you do this best_matris07, why? if you're trolling just read my previous posts, ok? But if you really, honestly, mean it when you write your crap all the time, then sorry dude you might have a problem and you should do something about it.
On Topic:
I'm not sure what's going on right now with the dongle, but people seem to have reverse engendered it already, all they need now is to dump the content which i assume may have already been done as well, even though I'm not sure. On the other side, one of the guys who's busy with reversing the dongle, is certain that the dongle uses Geohot's exploit.
Also, there's more possible clones pooping up (don't be surprised if it's fake though): http://www.ps3key.com

Hey aTr don't take this as a personal attack but back when I banned christx and cpamx and we had that drama some months ago, I talked to you over irc and you specifically told me that you were 14 or 15 years old. So in all your glory, you are not older than 15 or 16 now unless you aged more years in a few months. I think you do have much more knowledge at your age than best_matrix but I also think you shouldn't say things like you said above, because you are actually in the very category that you are putting down. Just sayin'

From what i understand, this article tells the same thing I've heard already. The "jig" exploits some part in the PS3, apparently, using some USB hub emulation and injects a payload in order to make the ps3 run unsigned code. The payload, however, according to this article is sent via some sort of USB sequence that happens within that emulated USB hub. Anyway, nobody seems to know what the payload is exactly since nobody dumped the dongle (properly?), yet.

Ah, interesting. I read the German article; from what I take out of it, the USB dongle uses a buffer overflow per USB device descriptor, and then emulates a jig module which sends 64byte of static data. Too bad the article doesn't tell what this data could be or what data is written to the code by the buffer overflow.
I also wonder, if the virtual jig gets encrypted data, what does it do with that. Kind of weird.

no matter on if its fake or if its real ...
in do time all systems get hacked and altered to include things that wheren't included like playing backups .... playing older games . but as for all that has been said here those dongles might be real theres alot of info about them so maybe someone is making them or trying to build them i mean hacking a games that people say isn't hackable in do time it gets hacked
so i hope this is got some truth about it because ps3 has some nice hardware and it would make it worth your money to be able to play old game because in 2 to 3 years theirs going to new systems and your now old systems will be put in a closet .
