i downloaded some games in the 7z format. i tried to open it with 7zip and bitzipper. i could only open it with bitzipper. then i tried to extract the file. then there was a message "no files to extract". so i can't use it. .. and i also tried it with winrar

Moved. Usually 7-Zip (obviously) and WinRAR should be able to open 7z archives without problems. I'd recommend doing what illpillow said.

7-Zip 9.20 should work fine. If not, then use HJSplit then 7Zip or WinRar.
