So since they literally overtook the whole Internet I want to share my opinion here about it. First of all it starts to piss me off how it starts to turn out, its no longer just a search engine which obviously sucks pretty bad.

Since I have two different email accounts, one for real life stuff and one for the daily internet spam. Since everything is now Google I have to keep changing the god damn logins especially on YouTube, when I logout of my google mail I automatically log out of youtube, when I login to my real email address I also can't comment crappy videos on YouTube or browse those that needs registration.

Also Google+ for example does not like pseudos, they will deactivate your shit if you don't use a real looking name on purpose. Google starts to turn out like some stupid money controlled assholes that no longer give a damn crap about its users as long it does make cash.

Also did I mention how much their new search sucks, whenever you go with the mouse over some result it starts to pop up this annoying crap box which is definitely not wanted. Also this crappy Instant search is always toggled on by default if you aren't logged in at all which also adds big time annoyances.

I really hope for Microsoft to take over with their Bing as Google becomes one hell of annoying piece. They overdid it when they bought of YouTube, also HURR DURR GEMA BITCHES - SUCK SOME COCKS ALREADY

At least blogger supports OpenID and other forms of auth for comments. I am only waiting for them to enforce their Google account bs there.
Unlike Microsoft with Live logins, you also can't use your normal E-mail and activate Live for it, no the thing forces you to use a whole new account.

Google+ is just like GMail made to collect data to serve ads more suitably. Whilt this is absolutely a ridiculous attempt, it's somewhat true nevertheless:

Well, guess why? So they can associate your searches with your account.
Now from Google's POV, that has to be great: Get what people like on YouTube (which speakably reveals a lot of information already), get their contacts and personal data from Google+ and their searches from Google itself. That's like facebook in a lot worse.

Also, how convenient that reCAPTCHA is in Google's hands. They're luckily helping to digitalize books... and seeing on which pages you're on besides that. Not as if reCAPTCHA held back any spam though.

I am using Bing for long time now, and as long as you set it to English, it delivers really decent search results to be honest. Just don't try the German version, it's still beta I think... for uh 2 years now...

I am also avoiding YouTube where I can. For music, try Grooveshark, you'll find it's a lot better as of quality and ease to use and got no GEMA or annoying ads which play before your video and which you can't skip like on YT.

You can be logged in into multiple accounts at the same time and youtube only uses one of them. Just sayin.

If I wanted all that spam on my real email I would just link it, screw that. Google died for me today, I tried to ignore some things that has been going on lately but since they don't give a fuck about anything I'm gonna avoid their services from now. Slowly packing my shit to get away from it.

Always look on the bright side of life, you could be VMware customer. Speaking of which, it's the only company which I dispise more than Google I could think of right now.

They're absolute experts in screwing their customers; their latest clue? Put epic limits on vRAM pools and cause your average customer to require purchasing something in between of 50-300% more licenses while still increasing the per license price by around 20%. In 2009 they already changed from a per CPU socket to a per core licensing, causing a 200% increase for dual core deployments and a whopping 400% for quad cores.

Why the fuck do you use Google+ ?
I didn't know you are such a social person...
As far as I am concerned, only faggots use social sites like Google+ and Facebook to actually stay in touch or find their mates or relatives.
Also I do agree that google is getting turned into a tablet app with 0 privacy and sniffing and fusing of every account you own on the internets.
At one point I actually expect to have google fuse my rin account with their service for "practical" reasons.
And yeah, I have turned off insta search because it's incredibly annoying imo.
It's also a big truth that 99% of the internet users, use google's search engine to find new websites and if google doesn't index them, it's impossible to find them.

What we need is a non corporatist search engine that indexes absolutely everything no matter what's it about.
The first sign to know that a search engine is truly free is to be able to find site that promote murder and child porn.
When such sites will be easily findable with a search engine, that's when a search engine will prove that it's not controlled or censored.
A search engine should not be allowed to censor anything just because it's illegal and wrong everywhere in the world.
The authorities should find a way to arrest the people hosting those sites or the people visiting those sites.
A search engine should search the internet and display everything about everything without exception.
What google, bing and yahoo search do, is index shit selectively and censor what governments don't want us to see.
Maybe in some years they will stop indexing torrent sites too, just because they are illegal in too many countries.

It's time for Internet 2 to take shape become what internet 1 used to be!

Indexer is quite good also gmail's anti-spam is ok, but actually there's regress in company development, new things they implement are useless crap. I can't see and difference of google now and past few years. (in case of usability)

(Good thing is that they bought BinDiff and BinNavi and it's going to be cheeper)

So far, I haven't had a single account at any google-affiliated online service or site, ever. Not even YouTube. I considered moving emails to GMail, but I also do not like how they connect all kinds of data from all kinds of services. I was also interested in Google+, I was hoping it'd be better than Facebook (I figured that can't be too hard), but as soona s they started the real names only policy, no more Google+ interest from me. I'll be watching Anon+ and that other project that I always forget the name of.
The worst thing about these networks is nowadays, you're often the only person in a group of people that is not on any such network, especially Facebook. I have missed birthday invitations just because they were only sent via a social network, and that can actually piss you off.
Up until now, it was enough to just not register on certain sites or not use certain services, but I feel like we lose control more and more. You can never be sure that people don't link your name to a face on a photo which you can do so conveniently on Facebook and other, you don't know what people do with their contacts on stuff that you do use. Everything has Facebook and twitter integration, everything is infested with behaviour-tracking bullshit.
Once the majority of the population will recognize that if they want to get some of their personal data out of the cloud, they have absolutely no way to do so, it'll be too late already. At that point, net neutrality would be beyond saving.

Unfortunately, speaking of technical features, GMail is the best free mailing service. Your IP is not in the header, you can receive and send email with your desktop client, encrypted if you like, and so on. All other services I've used either don't have much encryption, don't have POP3 or put your freaking IP in the header.
Does anyone know a good email provider that doesn't force me to use webmail, that has encryption and respects privacy? ..
