Apple Inc co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs, counted among the greatest American CEOs of his generation, died on Wednesday at the age of 56, after a years-long and highly public battle with cancer and other health issues. Jobs' death was announced by Apple in a statement late on Wednesday. The Silicon Valley icon who gave the world the iPod and the iPhone resigned as CEO of the world's largest technology corporation in August, handing the reins to current chief executive Tim Cook. Jobs, who fought a rare form of pancreatic cancer, was deemed the heart and soul of a company that rivals Exxon Mobil as the most valuable in America. |

I'm not an Apple fan (I don't even own any of their products), but for good or bad, it's clear that his influence in the computing world is undeniable. As I said in the spam thread, RIP Steve. |

I am not an Apple fan either, but I listened to this man's motivational speech once, and I liked him for it. Then he also mentioned his cancer and how he beat it... Well i guess he didn't beat it after all. |

R.I.P. I didn't like Apple products either but hey he was the man that ran such huge company. I don't think I got more to say on that |

I just have an old Ipod nano and using it with itunes is a real pain in the ass. For those who doesn't like itunes, Sharepod is an awesome alternative. He developed so many noob friendly products like the first computer with a desktop and the "tactile" technology Rest In Peace Steve |

There are lots of rumors that were even spread through wikipedia, that he secretly had aids and that's what finally got him. Considering that his rare pancreatic cancer is usually found in Aids patients and considering that the current CEO of Apple "Tim Cook" is openly gay and was also directly appointed to be CEO by Steve himself when he resigned, the rumors become interesting. |
