I know this probably sound stupid, but I've been up and down looking for a way to rid all the menus that belong to the input method editor stuff from my right click in Windows 7. This is en-US MUI Windows 7 without any languages pack installed so it doesn't make sense why I still get the menus even I have only English as the default input language. The menu are there even after a fresh install but it will only appear when I right click in the text field control. I don't care even if I had to patch system files, just want them to be gone. Yup but key/value Prototype doesn't exist in windows 7 |

I never noticed that, but just as Maleko I have no need for the IME, so if anyone knows how to remove it that'd be cool. The Prototype key isn't in my registry either and Google wasn't very helpful. |

You can remove that by unregistering the IME DLLs, but don't do that, it's a pretty bad idea.... ...why does IME bother you so much? |

Me, I just want to remove it since I don't have any use for those menus, but if it brings more trouble than it's worth, I'll pass. |

Unregistering these DLLs would remove the context entries but would as well unregister certain IME COM classes which migh affect applications, I don't know. As I can't really make out what exact advantage this gives, I'd simply recommend to not to do this. |
