I wonder if it's going to use the same gta 4 engine that got a bit improved in Red Dead Redemption and in L.A Noire.
I suspect that if they use the same engine, the faces of the characters are going to be at least as detailed as the ones in L.A Noire.
I also wonder if they will bring the game for pc again after the huge scandals with Gta 4.

It's a bit sad that they've decide to release it on the same outdated console generation so it can suffer from the same limitations again...

I really hope GTA 5 will be a proper game engine. GTA IV engine on Steam is NOT good.

The game originated on PC it would be a massive step backwards if they stopped supporting the platform they started on.

Care to explain why?
As far as I'm concerned, Gta IV on PC was too powerful for the hardware that existed back at release date and combined with a few bugs from V1.0 many people decided to brand it as a bad game.
What most people don't know is that GTA IV has been patched 100 times since release date and video drivers and hardware has also matured up 1000 times since then, allowing anybody with a decent pc to run the game maxed out without a problem.
I've been able to play gta 4 maxed out since 2 years now and to this day, there are still graphic enhancement mods that can push even the most high end gaming rigs out there.
I still play the game to this day with new graphics enhancement mods that make the game look much better than gta5 will ever look on release date, I guarantee you that!

If gta IV doesn't run for you, then why do you expect V to run better?
Gta V could only run better than IV if Rockstar makes the game look shittier which is something I don't want to happen.
Knowing RockStar, they will make Gta V look better than IV and still keep the old engine.
Gta IV doesn't run bad for you because it's bugged, it runs bad because it offers a shitload of stuff in real time and your pc is simply not fast enough.
Get at least an i5 cpu and a 560 ti nvidia card and at least 4 gb of ddr3 and you will run GTA IV the proper way!

How do you explain that it works perfect for me even when I screw around with it by adding mods and shit?
I have no lag at the subway or anywhere else.
The people reporting problems are most likely below an i5 cpu and a 560 ti nvidia card, that's why it lags.
Listen, I am not trying to excuse rockstar by saying everything is perfect, what I am trying to say is that Gta IV performs poorly NOT because it's a buggy shitty port like people claim but simply because it was at least 3 years ahead of the hardware it came on.
The graphics on pc are so much better than what you get on the console versions, which is exactly why it runs so bad on older hardware.
When it came out, on pc you only had 8800's and people thought those cards will run it perfectly which is bullshit when you look back and compare them to what we have today.

Recommends, means what? That will make the game acceptable?
The game doesn't even bother with more then a single core. WTF?! Why the Quad Recommendation then? What is Rockstar trying to say here?! i5 Makes it better? HOW?! When the game won't use more then a SINGLE core on my CPU.

I assure you that the cpu makes a huge difference!
I tried the game with various cpus and I found it to work best with an i7 and I've seen a mate using an i5 that kicks off performance like mad too.
I am not sure how many cores it uses because I never bothered to check but the i5 and i7 make a huge difference and I am not joking.
The reason why you need at least an i5 is not because of the cores but because it allows a new video card to work without bottlenecks.
If for ex you have a 560ti and a cpu below an i5 your video card will be bottlenecked.
In gta4 is all about the gpu and the gpu needs to be high end and it needs to be supported by a fast cpu.
It's a domino effect.
No decent cpu, no proper performance out of the video card.

So the fast cpu is not meant for the game, it's for the video card that's demanded by the game.

GTA IV does run for me. Just not very well. Tolerable, though.

My hopes for GTA V are that it will at least run. That means I wouldn't mind playing it even on Super Ultra Mega Hyper Exteremely Low settings.

Of course games can be awesome without top graphics, but "graphics are not everything" sometimes reminds me of men who claim they care more about the character of a woman than her looks. Both ideal thinking that we often can't live up to.
