I want to know which binary in cs1.6 client contain the client protocol version? Can we change the protocol number by using hex method? |

lespaul wrote: Can we change the protocol number by using hex method? As far as I know, all GoldSrc binaries were encrypted using a proprietary Valve scheme. There's a decoder available, but the game refuses to load unencrypted DLLs. Even if it didn't, I severely doubt you could achieve this by just changing a number with a hex editor. |

Yea i think the same too, i've open all .dll from GoldSrc engine and didn't fine any related with client protocol. Only GameUI.dll and mp.dll can hex with HexEdit. Other thing is encrypted. I wonder how Crock (dproto author can do a patch for his module), maybe he know about this too. As far as i know all Protocol 48 client are sucks, only engine build 3266 is stable to use but it was in protocol 47 and doesn't have static steamid. |
