I don't think it's a cracking problem.. It's a directory structure problem, anyone could solve it. So I recommend you take a shot anyway ;)

I try, but not readable file isnt solution... If the problem is directury structure, then must be error in guide to extracted version in first post too..

I compare Steam and NS 36xx structure, and fact is, steam doesnt have platform dir at all. But NS has, and it can work (read/write) from it (and favourites is quite important feature). So IMHO difference is on the files or cracking process

To make a 100% working extracted TF2:

Make folder for extracted game(I will call it %GAME_BASEDIR%)

1)
Extract the following GCF's to %GAME_BASEDIR%:
source materials.gcf
source models.gcf
source sounds.gcf
source 2007 binaries.gcf
source 2007 shared materials.gcf
source 2007 shared models.gcf
source 2007 shared sounds.gcf
team fortress 2 client content.gcf
team fortress 2 content.gcf
team fortress 2 materials.gcf

2)
Copy steam.dll(from hCupa's SteamEmu package v3.74) to
your %GAME_BASEDIR%\bin folder

3) Create new file called steamemu.ini in your %GAME_BASEDIR% folder then put the following single line in it:
Extracted=1

4)Copy steamclient.dll from your Steam folder into %GAME_BASEDIR%\bin folder.
This will fix "Steam... Unable to load library"/"Unable to get encryption key from server" errors.

Launch you game hl2.exe -console -game tf -steam [or -nosteam :)]

Have fun :)

i tried make CS 1.6 extracted version, but i will try this with hCupa... i think .gcf are the same like in 1st thread.. ?

edit:
1)
counter-strike.gcf
half-life engine.gcf
half-life.gcf
platform.gcf --> /platform

next steps same as you, when i use -steam parameter ive got cant load filesystem.dll error, without -steam game not starting..

Seems he need cs 1.6... It doesn't work with -nosteam(same as without -steam)...

[jamess]
Do you have latest GCF's?

Man, Do you know if Valve will make optimized TF2-SRCDS Linux binaries? Strange, currently i see only engine_i486.so...
Or they decided to drop support for optimized compilations...
:?

They will probably release some, there's time until 10th october when they plan to release other source2007 games (ep2 and portal). So I guess that's when TF2 beta is gonna end.

Of course, I won't be updating my engine patcher until then.

Team Fortress 2 - The universal REV patcher, isn't working anymore since the update last night. Basically what you get when trying to patch the engine.dll is the same error @ every step.
