That program have a problem... Today, when i deleted the folder of UCL after have used this, THE STEAMAPPS FOLDER THAT WAS IN THE STEAM FOLDER WAS ELIMINATED COMPLETELY! :@

I apologize, I knew about this. The problem is that UCL creates a symbolic link to steamapps folder at startup and if it's not destroyed when the program quits (if it wasn't properly closed), if you delete UCL's folder, steamapps will be deleted too.
I have deleted my steamapps several times too, now I know for sure that symbolic links bring too many problems. I will try to disable them from UCL.

Was it so hard to post about it here then? I don't like them too, but I though people are happy using them...
I'm here for your suggestions and critics of UCL, pls remember that ;)

As Baine suggested, I will probably try to make it an option to use junction points - they will be turned off by default.

Or you could force it to be like this:

folder\SteamApps
folder\UCL

.. and if there isn't a "..\SteamApps" for UCL, "SteamApps nit found make sure.. blah" :D

Thanks for this great application, it actually saved our CS:S teams bootcamp the other day. Steambuster was fucking up so as the geek i were i had to do something. UCL did the trick and were able to create a server since steambuster had done fucked up things in the CS:S folder. It also asked my teamleader to use it at events we're holding, like The-eXperience. Its the same computers which are used to hold the Wonderbase event right now, with fnatic, soa and all the other known CS teams.

Hey, I'm back ;).

It's nice to see that the development of UCL is going on and on :YAHOO: :BRAVO: :THUMBS UP:

But what about an option like "don't check updates" or "disable update check". Cause everytime I'm starting UCL it automatically starts searching for a new version and it's a bit annoying if it pops up with every start... I'm sure that a lot of people are really satisfied with the current version, so that they don't even want nor need a new one...

wb :)

yeah, I intend to place it in the "Tools" menu, so user would check for updates when he wants. The work is going on when I have time, also UCL got another helping hand, so I guess 1.1 will be a nice one ;)

Oh and what about the validation of the gcf files? Does UCL only load complete GCF files or does it also load files which have incompleted data? I mean if you have for example downloaded half-life 1 source via UnDeadPatch and Steam but it got stuck at 68% will UCL recognize the that files are missing?

Maby this check or validation should be added to the context menu: "Validate data / files".

And what about this possible change: Languages are always a problem, but what about making a standard files in which you can write the translation? You could e. g. create a file called brazillianlang.txt which contains all the words used in ucl and the translation. By using such files it would be possible for everyone to create his own language files or simply update / create a new one!

Here's a screenshot of the problem:
Image
The main window has a too big size. The size is nearly the same when web info is active, but like in the screenshot I disabled the web info.

*edit:
I think I found another bug... I just expanded my games list and hide the web info. After restarting UCL its window had a too big size just like the size when you active the web info, but you cannot see the web info! So if you hide the web info and restart UCL the window has a too big size! And as a result: I have to resize it automatically.
For solving this problem I would be create to have an option called: optimal window size.

Maby another feature could be: transparency. I don't really need this feature, but some like it.

Yep, CR@CK-IT, I noticed the size bug a while ago, will fix that for sure ;)

About validating, yes, I was thinking about that too, but I currently lack the knowledge to accomplish this. I also thought about checking for available disk space before launching (if there's not enough disk space, it usually hags up).

About language file, I'm not sure but I chose standard VS multilanguage feature because it's probably working faster than my own code would. Before the release, I will post the xml of resource file and everyone can translate it (like 100 different string lol) ;)

And transparency sounds fine, as long as it doesn't affect the speed of program.

Thanks, I'm adding the bugs to the list :)

Btw, I have a request to update your installer, please PM me if you can update it.

Sorry mi bad English, i am Braziliam.

Sorry man, but I hardly understand you :|

The first question, I think, is if UCL will work after auto update failed? It should work most of the time.

If you are having any problems, please use v1.0 until a stable v1.1 release. v1.0 should work normally.

Any news about the latest version?
Or is the project dead or just stopped for a while?

It has not stopped, that's for sure.
University takes most of the time from me. I should buy a laptop next week and then I'll have more time to spend on UCL.

Btw, it's not a solution to just disable the use of junction points :\ So it will be left as it is, but I will include a simple bat file to delete the junction point, in case UCL has crashed.
