No, steam works fines, switch to cftoolbox and still get the auth error. |

Im having some trouble getting CF toolbox to work  . whenever i try to sign in with my steam details under the preferences tab, it tells me "No authentification server could be found". How can i fix this issue?
EDIT: i just tried the steam2.steampowered.com:27030 and now it doesnt give me the error anymore

could someone please explain to me how it comes that some servers from steam accept you and others don't authenticate you? Or doesn't anyone understand that as well

Hum yeah seems that steam2.steampowered works now ... i don't know exactly ... this one works cause it's the config server on which the master auth servers are registering themself ... the other config servers doens't seems to be aware of the master auth servers existence and so are closing connection... to understand the problem : CFT connects to the configured ConfServer and ask him for the MasterAuthServer responsible for your login. the ConfServer (is then supposed to) send the MasterAuthServer responsible for your login (this is not working for everybody) CFT connects to the MasterAuthServer and logins to retrieve the ticket. i'll now release CF Toolbox 1.0.5 .. not much news there just a few things i fixed for ncf. unless i become lazy in middle of dev ... the next release should be a fully rewritten and cleaner version, there should be less crashs, bugs and it should look much more like an official steam client from a protocol point of view. it should then be safe to use legit accounts with it... will take some time before the next version will be released 
so, if you have problems to authenticate, try to change the config server address/ip/port ... |
