Hello i wanted to ask some questions. Im using Steam with the DSMP.dll, running great, got some games from Steam itself and others from Source_engine (Thanks!) To play games i open Steam with the dll injected, after that i can lauch them from steam or running shortcuts.. However i can't play the games without an internet connection, searching the forums i have found that the solution would be using UCL, after some reading, it seems that UCL uses RevEmu to play Steam games without Steam running (Is that correct?). Being able to play offline, in my case... But there are options like, using the RevEmu Steam.dll, or the original Steam.dll, or editing the ini files, or i don't know if there is a way to use original Steam files, (Hmm hope that makes sense) Thanks for the help. |

TestThePooh UCL is a launcher app. that means it launches your games' content. you dont play on cracked steam or original steam. you play without steam at all. UCL takes the place of steam as launching app. |

TestThePooh Just add " -offline" parameter to the Steam shortcut>Properties>Target It forces Steam to go into offline mode-which means it doesn't require any internet connection. mcfischsam already explained what UCL is BTW I think the HL2 episodes can run with the older version of revEmu in the UCL package. |

TestThePooh Just play with the default configuration. Follow the readme and play. Revemu will not hurt your computer if that's what are you asking. No way to play with original steam.dll. Because that is original, it wants steam to be running etc. |

First its not MiSteam its UCL you were using. Thats what you get when you force stuff with unlockers. And also even in unlocker manual it says do not unlock unless the process that is using the file is explorer. Ok, we use a feature called junction point (kind of special shortcut to a folder), so you can play more games (if you don't use that feature, some games will detect they are cracked and wont run). You can disable that feature (it is enabled by default) Unfortunately Win XP has some misunderstandings (Vista not) when you try to delete a junction point with Explorer and deletes the whole folder that the junc point points. So we added protections from happening that. That's why you got that message saying you cant delete the file. The thing is, the junction point is automatically removed properly on normal UCL exit. But you terminated UCL from Task Manager (not normal exit), and after that you even used Unlocker. What you should have done is start UCL again and exit it again, normally (File>Exit or just click X on the window). The Junction Point would clear and then you can remove UCL safely. |

Hi, if I try to start Team Fortress 2 (gcf) with UCL2, UCL2 doesn't list the game. The other games of the orange box like portal or HL2 are working and listed by UCL2. I could launch the same Team Fortress 2 vesoin with UCL 1.2. What the problem? I'm using Vista 32bit regards pizzaMAN |

Probably you don't have all TF2 gcfs. Because TF2 was updated many times since the orange box, and even one new gcf was introduced, multiplayer ob binaries.gcf These are the gcfs you need to have for TF2
TF2 GCFs

I just installed this trying to upgrade from UCL 1.2 since it cannot detect newer medias or launch L4D for instance. UCL 2.0 Alpha 4 detects my steam folder but there are errors. Cannot detect my steam media nor steam mods. And still cannot launch L4D so I'm using Steamup just for that. Any fix for UCL 2.0? HL2 has min files installed again under UCL 2.0. I did not delete UCL 1.2 yet. |

-First Download New CDR. Tools>Update Content Description Record -Then go to UCL folder and copy clientregistry.blob to RevEmu folder (this little copying will be automated in the next release) -For L4D plase update RevEmu. Download it and repalce the steam.dll and steamclient.dll with the new ones. -Now refresh content again. Mods should appear (there is a little bug that requires to refresh to times to see the mods. already fixed) -You have updated the CDR so new Media should show now. If they are not there, set the Video Player in options and refresh again. |
